The Pantone Color Institute named Ultra Violet as the 2018 design color of the year.

“Complex and contemplative, Ultra Violet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now,” according to the color forecasting organization.
Purple is the confluence of trustworthy blue and passionate red.

It embodies rarity, royalty, romance, and power. Purple was once reserved for use by emperors, monarchs, and bishops; but in the 21st century a violet accent can provide a welcome bit of voltage to every home’s décor.
Benjamin Moore’s parallel to Ultra Violet is 1421, Bistro Blue, a very energetic blue violet. Should you prefer a quieter incarnation, you may select from the international bouquet of English Hyacinth, Oriental Iris, or Persian Violet.
