Good News!

On May 9th, Good Samaritan Community Services honored San Antonio Businessman and Philanthropist Tom C. Frost at its first Good Samaritan Award Dinner at the San Antonio Country Club.  The evening included a video highlighting Frost's work in San Antonio and South Texas throughout his life, and a presentation of an award symbolizing the parable of the Good Samaritan.

The event raised more than $100,000 to benefit the life-changing operations and programs Good Sam offers to more than 2,500 individuals and families in San Antonio each year!

Help us Create a Magical Summer!

Our six-week summer learning program, "Camp Good Sam," is just around the corner! This summer we are excited to serve youth at seven (7) sites: Alice, Corpus Christi, Pharr, San Antonio (Main Campus and Krueger Middle School), Sonora and Wimberley.

The learning theme at the main campus in San Antonio is Harry Potter.

Help us prepare for summer activities by donating your gently-used copies of Harry Potter books and/or paraphernalia today!

We are also in need of 15 volunteers every Friday morning to help with competitions and activities! To learn more, contact Kathleen Judson at 210-424-2066.

Good Sam Glee Club Produces First Musical

On May 23rd, The Good Sam Glee Club performed in its first ever musical production, Beauty and the Beast.  The kids, ranging in ages 7-15, are all participants in the after school program, and signed up for the Glee Club because of their interest in singing.  This was the agency's first musical production, and some of the kid's first time performing for their parents!

A big thank you to Good Sam staff members, Whitney Hunt and Jenna Russell for designing the set and directing the performance!  Stay tuned for more productions beginning in Fall 2014!

Back to School Bag Campaign

It's that time of year again! In early August, we will need supplies to send more than 400 children and youth back to school in the Fall! This campaign allows each student to have the supplies they need to be confident and prepared to continue their learning in the new school year.
