From the Principal

Welcome new faculty
We welcome Mr. Justin Phillips our new Music teacher.  Mr. Phillips will begin his work at St. Andrew Academy on Monday, April 25th.  Mr. Phillips will be assisting in our PE classes with Mrs. MacConnie taking the lead for the rest of this year.  He will be assisting in our first grade classroom two days a week and will be our Music Teacher!  We are working on a time when we can host a meet and greet so parents can come meet him.

New faces on campus
Mrs. Diane Kraemer is teaming up with Mrs. Rossi and  helping us on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays in MS math classes. Mrs. Kraemer was a teacher in the public school system in the middle school in Darien.

Ms. Anne Lapera will be joining us  as staff in the After School Program on Wednesdays and Fridays and will be subbing in our school from time to time.  We are excited to have Ms. Lapera join us!

Spring Uniforms
It's that time when we switch back to spring uniforms.  Monday, April 24, 2017 all students should be wearing spring uniforms.

We've had a wonderful week back at school.  Here are some of our highlights!

Kindergarten star of the week - This week it was Tyler Rodgers
Kindergarten has a different Star each week. Children bring in a poster board of all pictures of themselves and their families. Each day they bring something to share. It could be a favorite book, favorite game or even a favorite snack to share with the class! This week our Star is Tyler Rodgers and here is a picture of him performing his magic trick!!

Earth Day
In the spirit of Earth Day the students  grades 2-4 made recycled items! We had a beautiful turn out! Projects included games, organizers, bird feeders, decorations, and gardens to name a few! The goal was to include 5 recycled items and each student's creativity! Mrs. Whidden, Mrs.Dorsey, Miss Windhorst and Mrs. Wilson are so proud of what the children presented! Thank you to everyone who takes care of our earth and recycles! Happy Earth Day to all!!  Our next can drive will continue our work of caring for the Earth by recycling.  Help us and save your cans!

Walk to End MS Forever

Our Student Council sponsored a team to raise money to end multiple sclerosis.  From the Walk MS website -  Ending multiple sclerosis for good will take all of us. Walk MS helps us team up with friends, loved ones and co-workers to change the world for everyone affected by MS. Together, we become a powerful force. And with every step we take, every dollar we raise...we're that much closer.  Together, we will end MS forever.  Thank you to our student council and Mrs. Whidden for their leadership and caring so much about others.

Second Graders visit Fairview of Fairfield
To culminate their Lenten activities, our second grade students brought flowers to the residents at Fairview of Fairfield.   They sang to the residents and had conversations.  They made the elderly feel honored and important.  We are so proud of our students.  thank you to Mrs. Windhorst for her leadership!
