Happy Mother's Day to all of our St. Andrew Mothers.
We know that the love between parent and child is the closest we can get to God's love for us. On this day we pray for all parents and especially Mothers.
Highlights From Our Week!
Friends, Family and Food Trucks!
Last Sunday, all four of our schools came together at St. Andrew Academy to celebrate the Catholic Academy of Bridgeport. We had a great time listening to the live music, eating delicious food and ice cream, getting faces painted and enjoying one another.
Catholic Academy of Bridgeport Teddy Bear Picnic!
On Monday our Kindergarten students enjoyed a Teddy Bear Picnic at St. Ann Academy. We continue to celebrate our one Catholic Academy by bringing students together for learning and community building activities.
Bullying Prevention Presentation
On Tuesday, Officer Thomas, a Bridgeport Police Officer came to school and gave presentations to our third through eighth graders on what bullying is and why we need to treat each other with respect and dignity.
We prayed at the beginning of each session to help us remember that at St. Andrew Academy, our Catholic School, we are called to something more. And part of that something more is how we treat each other.
Circus of the Kids
On Wednesday, we had juggling workshops and a circus show. Bruce Pfeffer, shared that learning to juggle helps students learn perseverance, gain self-confidence and can give them an interest they never had before. He shared that if you think you can do something, with hard work, you can - that goes for juggling to school work to any goal in life. Thank you to Mrs. Balsamo and Mrs. Witting for helping us all day!
Mother's Day Teas
On Friday, students in PreK through grade two hosted mother's day teas. They practiced their writing, drawing, singing and presentation skills a as they created beautiful stories, magazines, artwork and sang for their parents.
First Holy Communion
On Saturday, many students took a big step in their faith as they received their first Communion. Mrs. Wilson visited the second grade on Friday and talked to the students about faith. Each person is a child of God invited to a unique relationship that will grow throughout life. For Roman Catholic students, a step on their journey is to receive the Eucharist.
On Friday, at 7:30AM we will celebrate a liturgy with the theme of how God feeds us - through the Eucharist, through the Scripture, through our interactions with each other that build us up, help us be our best and feel our best. All parents are welcome to join us.
