Children's Ministries Open House
Don't Forget to Dress Up as A Hero (Adults Included) 

Join us Sunday, August 30th at 9:30 am for the Children's Ministries Open House in the parish hall. 

Everyone is invited to dress like their favorite hero (superhero, real-life hero, or biblical hero) for church and enjoy a special breakfast of donuts.  Families are invited to hear all about the upcoming year in Children's Ministries.
Youth and Children's Choir News

Youth and Children's Choir rehearsals begin September 9, 2015.  Click here to Register

Parents and young singers in the K-3rd grades will meet in the Nave on September 9th at 5:15 pm.

4th-8th grade and their families will meet at 6:20 pm in the Nave for the first meeting. 


Get your Registration in for the Kanuga Parish Retreat on January 29-31, 2016.

Registrations After September 1st will have to pay in full.

St. Benedict's has a new online tool to help you stay connected to fellow St. B-ers. It enables you to access the church directory and have the contact information for all your new and old friends at St. Benedict's.

Theology on Tap

Join us on September 8 at 7:30 pm at The Crafty Hog (652 Concord Road) for a chance for adult parishioners (or anyone) to discuss faith in a less formal setting. 

This session of Theology on Tap will have the theme of "Grace."

Family Promise

What do they have to do with me and my life?

Family Promise of Cobb County is currently serving three families (a total of 15 people).  There are many ways to minister to these families between our host weekends.  Each opportunity will positively impact both YOU and THEM.

Foyer/Casual Dinner Groups  

We need 8-10 more people/couples 

 

Are you interested in a dinner group? Groups meet once a month and you take turns hosting your group. Send your name, phone number and email address to [email protected] if you are interested.
Dinner groups are forming for the fall.

Acolyte Ministry at St. Benedict's

 

The Acolyte Ministry is open to children & youth in 3rd - 12th grade.  This ministry is a great way to serve in the church and get to know their follow parishioners.

 

All children & youth interested in joining this ministry are invited to join us for an acolyte meeting on Sunday, August 23rd, at 9:00am. During this meeting, new acolytes will get a chance to get know those already serving in the ministry and to hear from other acolytes what it means to be involved.

 

Please contact Courtney Vaughn  if you child or youth is interested in joining or if you have questions.
Save the Date: Annual Meeting 
Vestry Nominations are closed. The class will be elected the annual meeting on September 20th.

The process this year:
  • There will be four nominees on the slate.
  • The slate will be chosen by the nominating committee comprised of vestry and non-vestry members.
  • If one of your nominees is not selected by the committee, they can be nominated from the floor at the Annual Meeting on September 20th.
FARM is Today!

St. B's own farmers' market, will be held at 4:30PM today until dusk. 

Come see the exciting filming and support our fabulous vendors for veggies, honey, cheese, pasta, pies, spices and oils, tamales, samosas, Thai food and yes, bread! Delicious food to take home, so you can sit and relax with your family, over a healthy dinner.

The Choir of St. Benedict's will resume its regular schedule of Sunday morning rehearsals three times a month on
September 20th at 8:45 am.

Path To Shine Volunteers Needed  

 

Path To Shine Tutoring Program Can you listen? Can you share your knowledge?  Do you like Children? Do you need an Outreach Project?

 

If you answered yes to the above questions than Path to Shine is for you!   

 

St. Benedict's has two Path to Shine programs  

  • St. Benedicto's is on Sunday from 1pm - 2:30pm Starting August 23rd. If you are interested, please contact Sandy Meier.
