Elijah Cup Prayers for Vocations
Our parish has a beautiful ministry dedicated in prayerful support of vocations - The Elijah Cup Ministry.
The Elijah Cup is a consecrated chalice taken home for one week, rotated at each Mass.  There is also the monthly chalice given at every First Friday Devotion Mass.  Each carrying case comes with a chalice, instructions, a selection of prayers, Rosary, book, and spiritual journal to share the experiences felt while praying for those called to religious life.
A receiving family or individual displays the chalice in a prominent place at home and prays for an increase of men and women called to religious vocations:  priests, deacons, seminarians, sisters or nuns.  Knowing that you are praying for them will lift their called hearts ready to serve or to continue as our spiritual leaders bringing us closer to God.
We always need families and individuals to pray for vocations.   What a blessing let this chalice journey to your home and t hank you for the prayerful consideration!
Please look for the sign-up sheet in the narthex.  For more information, please contact:

Mary's Way of the Cross
March 22nd at 10:30 am
Is not the Way of the Cross the way of every person's life? Doesn't every life have suffering, falls, hurts, rejections, condemnations, death, burial... and resurrection?
It has been a Catholic tradition through the centuries to meditate on the Way of the Cross, so that it becomes our way of life.
Mary, the Mother of Jesus, made that first way of the cross. These stations, called Mary's Way of the Cross, attempt to present that viewpoint. In these stations we see through Mary's eyes what Jesus was going through on the way of Calvary. Then we try to make practical applications to our lives.
These stations and these words are not the heart of the matter; the heart of the matter is to go deeper and deeper into the sufferings of Christ, so that we might come out of this spiritual journey with an appreciation of what Christ did for us, and a deeper love for him and for our brothers and sisters.
"We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world."
Rev Andrew Costello, C.Ss.R.

Women in Faith

Grace and her family have been members of St. Francis of Assisi since 2007. Grace has served as an Extra-ordinary Minister of the Holy Eucharist, Lector, and usher during the 10am and Kenyan Mass's.
She has participated in many Parish Picnics as a volunteer leading games and activities. Grace has represented St. Francis at the Catholic Heart Work Camp mission trip the past 3 summers and is very active in her school and community being involved in DECA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Cass High Ambassadors, Youth Leadership Bartow, Spanish Honor Society, Prom Committee, Yearbook editor, and HOSA. Grace is on the varsity Tennis and Swimming team for Cass High School.

We asked Grace about how she hopes to impact the world of tomorrow as a disciple of Christ, she said " I hope to encourage the youth to be involved and be present while at church. I would like to see more youth wanting to serve Christ in many ways such as becoming an Alter server or going on the mission trips provided by the church." She shared with us that she plans to attend a university abroad and study international business and marketing.
