The Weekly Word
When I think of all of the decisions each of us must make every single day, multiplied by 365 days each year, it seems overwhelming.  Some decisions are easy - what to wear, what to eat.  Some decisions are really difficult - accepting a certain job, buying a house, how to care for a loved one who is ill.  When we find ourselves torn in deciding which direction to take in a given circumstance, we need to remember that we have already been given a direction to take - the direction that leads to eternal life.  And that particular path is found in the Word and example of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.  To see that path amidst the obstacles and darkness of indecision requires prayer that God Grant us so perfectly to know God's Son Jesus Christ to be the way, the truth, and the life, that we may steadfastly follow his steps in the way that leads to eternal life.  The way of Jesus is the way of peace - peace even in the multitude of decisions that are placed before us.

Thank You
On behalf of our family and myself I want to express thanks to the members of St. Francis for the tremendous support we have experienced during Joanne's recent illness and death. The outpouring of kindness in the form of prayers, cards, food, phone calls and visits has been overwhelming.  The Wildscape guild was one of Joanne's great loves and the many donations to this fund in her memory is very touching.  The love we both experienced here at St. Francis ment so much to both of us during this difficult time.  We both express many times how happy we were to be a part of the St. Francis family.  Thank you so much for your support.

Consider Lay Reading ...
Serving as a Lay Reader is an important church ministry. At each service, we read scripture and usually assist clergy with Holy Communion. It's a wonderful way to serve the Lord & the Church. We are particularly looking for readers at the 8:30 service but encourage folks from the 10.30 service to also apply. Most lay readers serve once a month. It is perfectly fine if you wish to just read and not serve at Holy Communion. Please contact clergy if you are interested or speak/email John Dieter. John's email is
