The Weekly Word
While Easter Sunday is already a time of joy and celebration, this past Sunday brought a new excitement to our Easter worship.  The Sunrise Service, attended by 120 people, consisted of the beautiful and moving "Great Vigil of Easter."  During this special service, Stephanie Burgar was baptized and the Garden Chapel bell was rung for the first time in many many years to shouts of "Alleluia! Christ is risen. The Lord is risen, indeed. Alleluia!"

And even with such a robust number of attendees at the early service, almost 100 were present for worship at the 10:30 service. Something wonderful is taking place in our community, and it is my hope that we will invite others to share our beautiful campus, our worship, and most of all, the love we have come to know in the special community known as St. Francis Episcopal Church.

Blessings+
Fr. Brad.

Update on Pews
The pews were removed from the nave to be refinished, reupholstered, and repaired. I thank Deacon Tamara, Chris Sedonic, and Frank Johnson for helping me to rearrange the seating and add additional chairs to the nave. The pew company expects to have the pews finished and back in use by the middle of May.

CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP
Announcing the formation of a Creative Writing Workshop. From years of teaching creative writing at Baylor and at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Donna Walker-Nixon has come to realize that people have a need to write and to share their experiences with others. Their writings range from fiction to nonfiction, and each demonstrates in one form or another spiritual realities that people experience. With those ideas in mind, we will begin to formulate a group of writers who want to share their stories with family, friends, and people outside themselves.  Being an experienced writer is not a requirement.  Just a desire to tell a story. This workshop is geared toward young and old alike with the goal being to create a community where people will feel free to share their stories.

Interested? Then please show up at the initial meeting where attendees will share the types of writing they wish to focus on. There is no cost or fee to attend. Questions should be direct to Donna Walker-Nixon, walkernixon@aol.com.

Where:  St. Francis Episcopal Church Parish Hall
Time:  3:00pm-4:00pm
Date:  Monday, April 4
