VETERANS NEEDED FOR RECONCILIATION EXPERIENCE DOCUMENTARY

Veterans needed for a film called "Coming Home" about the pilgrimages of remembrance and reconciliation for veterans that the Rev. David Peters began leading at Grace, Georgetown several years ago. A feature-length documentary is planned about Peters' experience and he is looking for a dozen OIF/OEF veterans willing to be filmed. "We need veterans of WWII, Korea, especially Vietnam, Balkans, Somalia, Persian Gulf, Panama, and others to support this new generation of warriors on the journey home from war," Peters said. Contact Peters at runnermonk@gmail.com.

NEEDS IN THE DIOCESE OF LOUISIANA

At a time when the shelters are refusing goods (they are overloaded), The Diocese of Louisiana is asking for gift cards to Wal-mart, Home Depot, Target, etc. right now. Over $10,000 in gift cards were given out in less than 48 hours to people in emergency shelters in Baton Rouge and to homeowners, mostly in Denham Springs and West Feliciana Parish, both hard-hit. Denham Springs is 90% flooded and the parish church there is severely damaged along with every other building on their property.

Gift Cards can be given to Deacon Tamara for mailing or you can mail them directly to:
Diocese of Louisiana
Attn: Deacon Elaine Clements
1623 Seventh Street

THANK YOU!

To the St. Francis Family:  Thank You!  I cannot tell how much your support and care during the past 12 weeks as well as your appreciation last Sunday deeply touched my heart.  I am honored and humbled to be given the privilege of serving you.  Trust me, the bottle of wine and spa gift certificate will be put to good use!  Thank you again.
Blessings and much love, Deacon Tamara
