The Weekly Word
merry-xmas-header3.jpg
Sunday is both the 4 th Sunday of Advent and Christmas Eve. During Advent we have been preparing for the coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Not just for his birth, but for the time He will come again. Are we ready? As we lit each candle on our Advent Wreath we created an image of increasing light. We moved from darkness into light.

This increasing light leads and draws us closer to the light of Christ. On Christmas Eve we celebrate that light, that incarnate Word. Our joy lives in the light of Christ that resides in our hearts. Our hope shines forth for ourselves, for St. Francis, and for the World. The Christ in Christmas is the light in our hearts. Let us pray that our hearts are a beacon that leads and draws others to Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with us.
Grace and Peace,
Deacon Tamara

Prayer During this Time of Transition

Hear us, O Lord, as we come to you for guidance. Give us patience during this time of transition at St. Francis. Help us to be responsive to the needs of each other and to follow where you lead us. May St. Francis become new not only through its leadership, but also through the unity of its members. Amen.

FEED MY SHEEP SACK MEALS (FMS):  On the 2nd Sunday of each month, all are invited to gather in the Parish at 9:30 to prepare 200 sack lunches for our neighbors who have limited access to food. The lunches are delivered to Feed My Sheep. Our next scheduled sack meal preparation is Sunday, January 14 . To learn how to get involved, please see Deacon Tamara.

ST. FRANCIS GIFT SHOP: As most of you know, the gift shop must have two workers at all times.  We are in desperate need of volunteers.  This is a great time to ask your best friend to sit with you and a great time to socialize and catch up. Please consider, just 3 1/2 hours a month and we will put you on the schedule.

ST. FRANCIS CHOIR: "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!" Notice the passage does NOT say we have to have a beautiful voice to praise God! We are looking for new choir members. We practice at 9:30am before we sing at the 10:30am service. So come join us!
