A THOUGHT FOR THIS WEEK
God has blessed each one of us in so many ways. Our health, our friends and loved ones, our vocations, food and water to sustain our bodies, and life itself are just a few examples. With so much abundance poured down upon us through our loving and generous God, it is easy to take our blessings for granted. We may even reach a point when we no longer acknowledge God as the provider of our abundance. And we know that nothing could be further from the truth.
A line in a song from the Broadway play Godspell tells us:
All good gifts around us are sent from Heaven above. So thank the Lord; thank the Lord for all His love.
I hope you will join me in a deliberate practice of - First: remembering that God is the giver of all things. And Second: remembering and giving thanks to God whenever we hear, taste, see, or feel things that bring us joy and wonder - things that come only from God's abundant grace and God's love for each one of us.
Blessings+

2017 Capital Campaign - 100% Participation
You should have received in the mail a pledge card allowing you to participate in a campaign to reduce the budget deficit. The letter that accompanies the card explains the details.
I am asking you to fill out the card and return it - even if you are already tithing. My request for 100% participation is to ensure that each of us have considered in prayer our responsibility to give back to God in a way that truly represents our gratitude as stewards of God's gifts - 90% of which we get to keep! Please pray on this matter for discernment of the best use of the gifts God has placed in your care.
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. For everything in heaven and on earth is yours. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom, and you are exalted as head over all. (For more see Book of Common Prayer, 377)

ALL-MEMBER VISIONING EVENT
February 25
Professional Visioning Coach Elizabeth Ann Gates will be at St. Francis to lead our congregation in developing a future vision for our parish. Ms. Gates worked with our ve
stry during the Fall to develop a current Mission Statement and set of Core Values (see below) that align with how we see ourselves, today.
All participants in the event will have an opportunity to contribute to the conversation that will conclude with a vision for our life in ministry. One or more groups will be formed to work over the coming months to form strategies to make our new vision a reality.
The event will begin on Saturday morning at 9:00 am and end by 1:00 pm. I strongly urge that all members of St. Francis attend as we identify new ways in which we may continue to build up the Kingdom of God.
