The Weekly Word
This is my final weekly submittal for a while, as I'll be away until the end of August. As summer brings with it a sense of peace and relaxation, it will also be a time of looking forward to great excitement in store for this coming Fall. As you may remember, Celebration Sunday is scheduled for August 28th, when the UMHB Crusaders will join us for worship and lunch; this will also be my first Sunday back at St. Francis and a day when we will all Rally to begin a new program year.
St. Francis will host a city-wide Blessing of the Animals, complete with vendors, speakers, and more on October 8th. Later that evening, the St. Francis Fest will take place in the form of a great dinner and fellowship as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of our church.
Also, with the vestry's approval, I have been in conversation with a Vision Coach who has come with high recommendations from the diocese. During the Fall, it is my hope that we can complete a "visioning process" that we help our parish discern a strategic plan for the next several years to come.
While I am away, I will pray for you and our church, and I ask your prayers for my family and for me, as well.

Blessings+
Fr. Brad.

The Cup of Life Day of Reflection - June 22
Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center, in Belton, is offering a Day of Reflection on Wednesday, June 22 nd , 9:00am-2:30pm.  "Anyone thirsting for a more intimate life of prayer will find a wellspring of enrichment in The Cup of Life authored by Sister Joyce Rupp. The ordinary cup that we use each day can serve as a vessel that connects us with daily life. The cup is filled with symbolism: the broken cup, the chipped cup, the empty cup and the blessing cup. All serve as reminders that God uses the ordinary things to connect us to the extraordinary. Join us as we explore our own cup of life. Cost is $35 and includes lunch."  To find out more or to register, visit www.cedarbrake.org or call (254) 780-2436.
