St. George's mission is to share together God's work in our lives through liturgy
and sacrament, through joyous and caring fellowship,
and through courageous and compassionate engagement with the world.
A Word from the Warden

We recently received news that our Parish Profile was approved by the Diocese. Well done Profile Committee! Please click here  to read this important report. The profile will be available for all prospective rector candidates to study.

The discernment phase of the transition process will begin now. Our Discernment Committee is made up of the following people: Doug Stuart, co-chair, Stephen Lightcap, co-chair, Ed Brocklesby, Chris Butto, Cathy Hetznecker, Stephanie Krouse, Janet Reddin, Pete Ricci, Bryn Thompson, and Nina Wickersham. Please understand that the committee must do their work in strict confidence and will give us updates on a timely basis. Please keep the committee in your prayers as they as they begin this critical work.

Dear St. Georgians,

Save the dates!   Lenten Wednesday Evening Suppers with worship and study/discussion at St. Georges begin Wed., February 21st at 6:30 PM. Simple soup/salad or pizza suppers followed by a group discussion then compline.
Plan to make time for this Lenten tradition as we come together to deepen our faith and observe a holy Lent.

Lenten Quiet Morning - Saturday, March 3, 9:30 AM - Noon. Take time out for a morning of reflection, meditation and prayer.

Floral Guild Update

We have received only a few notifications through Sign Up Genius for flower memorials this year. Because we are currently in the process of bringing on a new parish secretary, I will be taking over flower scheduling, at least in the short term. Could you please email me at slabrake@wetlandsandecology.com if you want to sign up to have flowers placed on any or all of the altars this year? Please note this is a new email address. The cost of flower memorials remains the same as in past years, $45 for the main altar and $35 for St. George’s; payments can be submitted to the office.
The following dates/altars are unavailable for flowers this year:
February 11 (main and St. George’s)
February 18 through April 1 (Lent through Easter Sunday)
July 1 (main)
September 12 (main)
November 4 (main)
December 2 (main)
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks so much,
Susan LaBrake

That is one interpretation of how the Bible defines manna. Food that was provided to the Israelites to nourish them for their journey through the desert. For you and I manna is food, and much more. It is a gift we can provide for those In need for their life journey.
Here at St. George’s we have been creating our own version of manna to meet the needs of the homeless in our area. You have contributed your loose change to fund the bags of manna that our parishioners share with the homeless they encounter where they live and work.
This year during Lent we want to create even more manna...
MO’ MANNA ...and we are counting on you to lend a hand.

Here’s how:
Collect loose change and bring it to St. George’s to fund MO’ MANNA items
Contribute items on the manna items list (as requested by clients)
  •                       New white men’s tee shirts (size Large)
  •                       New pairs of men’s white socks
  •                       Juice boxes
  •                       Ramen noodle packets, peanut butter crackers, granola bars
  •                       Toothbrushes
  •                       Travel-sized toothpastes, mouthwash, dental floss
  •                       Travel-sized bars of soap
  •                        small tubes of hand cream
  •                        Small combs
  •                        Small packs of bandaids, hand sanitizer wipes
Bring your contributions (cash and items) to St. George’s by March 11
MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR MARCH 18 when all parishioners (adults and children) are encouraged to gather after the 10 AM service to create manna bags
MO’ MANNA on MARCH 18 is a Lenten service project of the St. George’s Outreach Committee. Your family’s participation will ensure that manna will be available for the life journey of those in need. Please join us!

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
