St. George's mission is to share together God's work in our lives through liturgy and sacrament, through joyous and caring fellowship, and through courageous and compassionate engagement with the world.
Dear St. Georgians,

We have made changes regarding the schedule for Advent 4/Christmas Eve service from 10:00 PM to 9:00 PM this year. The Vestry discussed the issue of planning for this Advent 4/Christmas Eve which fall on the same Sunday, Dec. 24 at its' October meeting.

We looked at service records for the past 5 years to learn that the 10:00 PM has declined in attendance steadily, except last year when it was on a Saturday night.

Overall, many churches are moving their late service to an earlier time to capture more families and individuals who prefer not to go out late on Christmas Eve anymore. Hence the decision, made with Lou Carol's support (representing the choir), to move the 10:00 PM to 9:00 PM on a trial basis this year.

The morning services are unlikely to be attended by families, who will understandably wait til the family service at 4:30. A single Advent 4 service was chosen as best option at a compromise time - 9 AM. As the choir will be coming and staying quite late, we chose spoken Morning Prayer as a simple way to complete Advent without choir. This is a one-time change as, for many years to come, Advent 4 and Christmas Eve won't fall again on the same day!
I look forward to worshiping with you and all our visitors through the holy seasons of Advent and Christmastide.

Faithfully, Pastor Barbara

St. George's Christmas Services for this year be as follows:

Sunday, December 24th

  • 9:00 AM Morning Prayer
  • 4:30 PM Family Christmas Eve Service
  • 9:00 PM Christmas Eve Service

Monday, December 25th

  • 10:00 AM Christmas Day Eucharist Service

Please help us continue St. George’s mission in service to God and our community by submitting your generous pledge for the upcoming fiscal year. By pledging now, we are able to adequately plan and budget our funds to meet our responsibilities. Without your pledge, our community might not be able to fully implement and manage those programs, services and benefits that we have come to expect from St. George’s parish. If you have not received your pledge card, you can obtain one at the parish office from Kelly. Additionally, forms will be available at church, this Sunday, or you can print out a pdf copy of the form by clicking here.  Just complete the form and place it in the collection plate when you come to church or bring or mail it to the parish office.

Yours truly,
The Stewardship Committee

Dear People of St. George's,

Since being commissioned on October 1, 2017 the Parish Profile Committee has been busy. As part of the transition process to select a new priest for St. George we have developed a survey that will tell candidates how our parish members feel God is calling our parish into its future and what we seek in a new priest to help us meet the needs of our parish in the years ahead.
Here is the survey link for completion by individual members by December 10. Completing the survey in one sitting should take about 30 minutes.
Your responses are vital to the next step in the transition process which is to create a written profile of the parish of St. George that will be available to you, posted on the parish website and available to candidates interested in becoming our new priest.
By adding your email address on the survey you tell us only that you responded, but your responses will be blind and not provided to anyone. If you receive your E-Tale by mail, a printed survey will be mailed to you.
Once you have completed your responses, press SUBMIT on the last page and your responses will be added to others. If you complete a printed survey please include your last name on the survey and either mail it to the Parish or bring it to the church on Sunday.
Please complete the survey and submit your responses by December 10, 2017. Your timely response will keep us on schedule and keep the transition process moving.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
