St. George's mission is to share together God's work in our lives through liturgy and sacrament, through joyous and caring fellowship, and through courageous and compassionate engagement with the world.
From the Interim Rector

Dear People of St. George's,

Greetings in Christ as we continue our return to Fall schedules. I'm conscious this week that to return to a schedule is itself a blessing! Our neighbors on the Gulf and Florida Coasts, as well as the Keys, Puerto Rico, all the islands hit so badly by Hurricane Irma - well, a return to life as usual for them must seem like a dream. As we follow relief and rebuilding efforts, keep them in your prayers.

Here at St. George's, I look forward to the baptism of Ellee Grace Tomkinson on Sunday at the 10:00 AM service. Please come join in the sacrament of baptism as we commit to helping raise Ellee Grace in her life in Christ.
Also, our Bible Study returns tonight at 7 PM. And Saturday, we dog lovers gather at 2:30 to see an enchanting film, A Dog's Purpose.

Appreciatively,
Pastor Barbara

NEW BEGINNING

Getting to Know You!

As we begin another year of parish services and unforgettable events we have an opportunity to get to know each other better. One helpful way to introduce ourselves as long-time parishioners, newcomers and Pastor Barbara… is to wear a name tag when we are at St. George's. Starting this week name tag blanks and pens will be available. Look for the yellow sign and sample name tag on the sofa table in Jerusalem Hall …and thank you! For you enjoyment click here :)

2018 STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN

This year’s stewardship campaign will begin on Sunday, September 17. Mary Hobart has graciously agreed to chair this year’s campaign. Please pr ayerfully consider the benefits and blessings that come with being a part of this faith community and your role in ensuring its continuation especially during this time of transition. Over the next week, you will be receiving a letter from Mary along with the form to make your pledge for the next fiscal year. The culmination of this year’s campaign will be commitment Sunday on October 15. If you do not receive a letter and form by September 24, please contact Kelly Gallagher, Chris Butto, Steve Krouse or Mary Hobart to obtain a form for this year’s pledge. We hope this year’s campaign will continue the tradition of continuing support, faith and outreach, established by the congregation of St. George’s Church.

Yours truly,
The Stewardship Committee

  • Notes From Lou Carol
Come and Sing This Choir Season

All are invited to sing with the Senior Choir this season. We will begin our rehearsals on Thursday, Sept. 7, at 7:30 PM, upstairs in the choir room. The choir's 1st Sunday service will be on Sept.10, with 9:00 AM call. All voices are welcome to sing with us: soprano, alto, tenor and bass, and no audition is necessary!

The choir has a lot of fun learning a variety of music of many different styles and time periods, and I do take suggestions for repertoire from all. Our 4 professional singers are all returning to sing at St. George's, and they will provide excellent support and continuity, along with our excellent regular volunteers. Come give us a try, and perhaps commit to a few Sundays.

Please contact Lou Carol Fix at LCFix@moravian.edu with any questions or need more information.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
