St John's Parish School of Religion 2017- 2018 Registration  
Dear Parents,
It's time to register your children in K4-High School for the 2017-2018 Religious Education class year. 

Registration is open March 27--April 12, 2017. Please help us with our planning for next year by registering and submitting fees now.
Please click   HERE  and follow the links for instructions to register and submit fees online. This is also a good time to make sure your contact info is correct and update any special needs your child may have. Registration is online only, for assistance please contact Lisa Mason in  the RE office at 256-722-7929 ext. 108 or by email  .

Rising 9th graders must register for sacramental prep classes for Confirmation I and Life Teen.  St John's has a two year prep for Confirmation, beginning in the 9th grade and culminating in the spring of 10th grade year with the Confirmation Mass celebrated by the Bishop. Rising 10th graders must register for Confirmation II and Life Teen. Confirmation prep includes Confirmation Class and Life Teen attendance both years. *Note: The RE office will need a copy of your child's Baptismal Certificate for Confirmation Prep and all second graders who will receive First Holy Communion.
The April issue of Partners in Faith is now available. The JOY of Easter morning is meant to come more than once a year.  Click HERE to learn ideas to make Easter JOY last all year. Also read about how worship is showing adoration and reverence for God that he is due. Learn how to teach your kids to give RIGHT worship to God. Paper copies of Partners in Faith can be found on the St Anthony cabinet in the vestibule. The Catholic Home Missions Second Collection is this Weekend April 22-23, 2017. This collection helps to support programs in religious education, evangelization, youth ministry, seminarian education, and ministry training in mission dioceses, including the Diocese of Birmingham. Envelopes were included in the April mailing - if you are missing your envelope, be sure to write "Catholic Home Missions" on the memo line of your check.  If you are an On-Line Giver, please visit the online giving website and set up a one-time frequency transaction.


Online Giving
Haven't tried Online Giving yet?  Many of our parishioners enjoy the convenience and personal budgeting aspect of a regular automatic offering. Options include "Direct Debit Giving" where funds are automatically transferred from your checking or savings account to the church's bank account.  "Credit & Debit Card Giving" lets you make offerings automatically on a predetermined schedule using a credit or debit card.  As an Online Giving participant, you can visit our  online giving website  at any time to set up an automatic donation plan, change your donation plan, make a one-time donation or view your online donation history. As you contemplate future contributions, please consider electronic giving. Adults in the parish interested in volunteering please join us on April 6th, 2017 for a planning meeting in the all-purpose room in the church basement at 6:30pm. Please contact Michelle Moore for questions .
We have scheduled baptism classes for children 4 years of age and older for Sunday, April 23 and Sunday April 30 from 1-2 PM in the basement of the Church. Please RSVP to Kathleen Butler if you plan to attend these classes with your child at
  Lunch at Old Black Bear Brewing, 208 Main Street, Madison at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017.   This luncheon is replacing the day trip that was previously scheduled for this day.  Please meet at Old Black Bear before 1:00 p.m. and enjoy some friendly conversation and good food in a casual setting.   Singles and couples are welcome.  If you are new to the Parish, it's a great way to meet people and make new friends.  Please call Dorothy Kaliszak at 256-325-1567 or Carol Schneider at 256-464-5183 to reserve your seat.    If you want to join us but need a ride, please call Blanche Irby at 256-461-0399.

Cajun in the Courtyard - St John Paul II Catholic High School
Join the Parent Association the evening before the Fr. Louis Giardino Falcon Classic for Cajun in the Courtyard beginning at 6:00 p.m on Sunday, April 23rd. Come see the school, support the school, enjoy low country boil and bid on select silent auction items before they are available at the golf tournament.

 Postpartum NFP
