Dear (Contact First Name),

Dr. King believed in a nation of freedom and justice for all. The MLK Day of Service is a way to bring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s life and teachings into community action.  For ideas or more information: http://www.nationalservice.gov/special-initiatives/days-service/martin-luther-king-jr-day-service/about-dr-king-and-mlk-day

Bundle Up!
Winter days are cold and rainy!  While we are thankful for the gift of rain, we also want to keep our little ones dry.  We often need to move from both campuses to the church or from the primary school to the big school.  Please make sure your children have rubber soled shoes and warm coats with hoods to help keep them dry on these rainy days.

Super Kids-Super Sharing:
St. Leander School is taking part in a Super Bowl project to help local children in need. It's called Super Kids-Super Sharing. You can help by donating gently used or new items including books, sports equipment, school supplies (new, please) and used cell phones. As you may be cleaning out some closets over the Christmas break to make room for new items from Santa, please consider donating these items.

Our collection will take place from January 5-18th, 2016.
Our Student Council will take all donated items to the Super Kids collection event on January 21st.

Book Fair
The Book Fair is coming!  Our theme for this year is Groovy!  Peace, Love & Books.  Please see the flyer in the family envelope to sign up to volunteer.  We are also still looking for a chairperson for the book fair, so if you love to be creative and have fun while earning your volunteer hours, contact the school office and sign up to chair this event.
Daughter Dance
The Daughter Dance is Friday, January 22nd at 6:00 PM in the Auditorium.  The theme is a Black and White Masquerade Ball.  Masks will be provided.  It is not too late to join us for a fun evening of dinner, dancing, photos and fun!  So, don't delay.  Sign up by the end of this week.  No tickets will be sold at the door.
CYO News
It is not too late!  You can still sign up for girls basketball through the end of January.  Girls in grades second through eight are eligible to play CYO basketball.  If you would like to register, you may pick up a packet at the school office.  Registration closes at the end of January.
