Dear (Contact First Name),

Catholic Schools Week begins on Saturday, January 30th with Open House from 2:00-4:00 PM and Mass at 4:30 PM.  Please join us in celebration of Catholic education.  Take a walk through the classrooms, and enjoy the wonderful displays of student work. Please invite any prospective families you know who may be interested in St. Leander School.

Bundle Up!
Winter days are cold and rainy!  While we are thankful for the gift of rain, we also want to keep our little ones dry.  We often need to move from both campuses to the church or from the primary school to the big school.  Please make sure your children have rubber soled shoes and warm coats with hoods to help keep them dry on these rainy days.
Transitions
Mr. Trevor Sampson, our PE teacher, has informed us that he has accepted a full time job teaching and coaching at Encinal High School beginning at the end of January. His last day with us will be this Thursday. We thank Mr. Sampson for his contributions to our PE program and wish him blessings on his new venture.

I am delighted to announce the hiring of Mr. Jose Luis Nava who will begin on February 1st. Mr. Nava brings a tremendous enthusiasm for educating and coaching young people. We warmly welcome him to our St. Leander School community.

Book Fair
The Book Fair is coming!  Our theme for this year is Groovy!  Peace, Love & Books.  Please see the flyer in the family envelope to sign up to volunteer.  We are also still looking for a few people to help chair this event.  We need one person to make reminder phone calls to volunteers and create a master list of the volunteer schedule (3 volunteer hours will be given for this job) and we are  in need of someone to help plan family night with fun activities   (4 volunteer hours will be given for this job). We are also looking for one or two people who can be available all or most of the book fair times to be a main cashier  and be there to total out the register each day.  You can earn up to 8 hours for this job.   Please contact Ms. Cross at the school office if you are interested in helping out.
4th Annual East Bay Youth Football Academy

You know what they say . . . there is no off-season!!

EAST BAY YOUTH FOOTBALL ACADEMY is running its annual youth football combine and clinic.  Kids ages K-8th grade and of all skill levels are welcome.  Each participant is given a written record of performance at the combine. We will run tests just like they do at the NFL combine!!

The second hour is dedicated to an all-position clinic where you will rotate through various stations doing drills to improve throwing, running and catching.  We focus on teaching and learning how to do things correctly and safely. Skills transferable to all sports.
