Dear (Contact First Name),

We had a wonderful celebration of Catholic Schools Week!  We also celebrated the 100th Day of school on Tuesday at the primary campus, and all of the students dressed up as 100 year olds.

Science Fair News: Congratulations to our science fair participants!  Five eighth grade students represented our school at the Diocesan Science  Fair last weekend at SJND.  They all did a wonderful job presenting their projects.  Saia Lorenzo conducted an investigation to determine how much energy can be gained from salt water, and she received third place. Audrey Kibanoff's experiment with charging electronic devices while exercising on a bike received a second place ribbon. Erika Aguayo Gutierrez studied chromatography using candy, and Francisco Romero joined his love for baseball with science by coming up with a scientific method to show others the most effective way to pitch. Erika and Francisco both won second place. Leslie Esquivel investigated to find the amount of gas emitted by ordinary, household liquids. Her project won first place in the Physical Sciences category! She will be moving on to the Alameda County Science and Engineering Fair where she will be competing against other students from all over Alameda County on March 11th-13th at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton. Please come out and support our fellow Gaels!

Important Billing Reminder

SLED and TUITION Payments
There has been some confusion about when SLED payments are due.  Invoices and Statements are sent home around the 10th of each month, and payments are due before the last day of the month.   If you know you utilized SLED, and you have not received a statement, it is your responsibility to contact Kathy Heisick  351-4144 or Laurie Beasley 483-8488 to determine your balance due.  In order to avoid late fees, please pay before month-end.
Please keep tuition payments on time to avoid late fees and to allow us to pay the bills and salaries we need to pay to keep our program running. Late payments/missed payments affect us in a negative way, and we must get all accounts caught up and paid on time in order for your child to continue in our program.  If you have any questions, please contact Laurie Beasley at the above number. We want to work with our families to ensure that financial commitments are fulfilled. Thanks for your cooperation!
Super Kids-Super Sharing
We received the following thank you from the NFL for our participation in the Super Kids Super Sharing program:

"Thank you for all of your wonderful work on Super Kids-Super Sharing. More than twelve thousand items were donated during the Super Kids event at Alameda Point. Another twenty thousand items were donated during the Santa Clara event. Because of your good work, more than thirty thousand books, school supplies and pieces of sports equipment are in the hands of local children who needed them."

Our Student Council took our donations a few weeks ago and spent the morning sorting and counting. Then they had a blast performing  drills with Oakland Raider players and cheerleaders. Thanks to all who donated items for this special event!

Congratulations to our Girls Volleyball Teams
Congratulations to our girls volleyball teams.  The eighth grade girls won second place in the Metro League and the sixth grade girls won first place!  Both teams will move on to the Diocesan Championships! We are so proud of you!  Come out and support our teams on Saturday.  The 6th grade girls will play at 12:00 at St. Theresa School in Oakland, and the 8th grade girls will also play at 12:00 at St. Elizabeth School in Oakland.
