Dear (Contact First Name),

Catholic Schools Week
Happy Catholic Schools Week!  This week we celebrate Catholic education and recognize our Catholic schools as "Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service." Thank you to the small but mighty group of parents who helped us with Book Fair and Open House. Hopefully next year, we can have more parents help us with these important and fun activities!

Thank you to all of our very thoughtful parents who helped to make Teacher Appreciation Day truly special for all of the faculty and staff at St. Leander School. We enjoyed breakfast goodies and delicious Mexican food for lunch!

On Tuesday, we celebrated the gift of learning and the many academic talents of our St. Leander School students through Academic Olympics.  Congratulations to Team #4 the Grand Champions of the Academic Olympics.  David Hua, Jayden Bell, Ty Jones, Paige Urrutia and Russell Kim did an excellent job representing their classes. Good job, everyone!

Today we donate to FACE, an organization that continues to support Catholic education through their generosity to many of our school families throughout the diocese. Thank you for helping provide the gift of Catholic education to students who would otherwise be left out.

Tomorrow is Student Appreciation Day!  We will celebrate our wonderful students, and  have free dress, no homework, extra recess,  and lunch with our faith families.  The lunch menu provided by the school is a plain McDonald's hamburger (teachers will be supplying mustard and ketchup as requested!), a bag of chips, a juice box and a dessert treat from their Eighth Grade buddies, and the buddies are being attentive to allergies and dietary restrictions for these dessert treats. If your child does not like this lunch, please be sure to either order Hot Lunch or provide a lunch.

We will wrap up our week of celebration on Friday.  All parents are invited to join us in the auditorium following morning prayer for breakfast and special presentations from our Prekindergarten and Kindergarten students in recognition of Parent Appreciation Day.  We thank you for your wonderful support and dedication to your children and to our school.  Italian Ice will be on sale at 12:00 at the big school.
Welcome Mr. Nava
We are delighted to welcome Mr. Jose Luis Nava who began teaching P.E. this week.  He will also help with primary crossing four mornings a week. Coach Nava, as he prefers to be called,  brings a tremendous enthusiasm for educating and coaching young people. We warmly welcome him to our St. Leander School community.
Book Fair
We had a groovy time at our Book Fair!  Family night was a blast with Clifford, face painting,  games and music, and   our students demonstrated their wonderful hula hooping skills!  We would like to thank small but mighty group of parent volunteers for their time and dedication to making this a fun-filled and successful celebration of reading.  We would also like to thank our middle students for being fantastic volunteers and demonstrating their skills as face paint artists.
4th Annual East Bay Youth Football Academy

You know what they say . . . there is no off-season!!

EAST BAY YOUTH FOOTBALL ACADEMY is running its annual youth football combine and clinic.  Kids ages K-8th grade and of all skill levels are welcome.  Each participant is given a written record of performance at the combine. We will run tests just like they do at the NFL combine!!

The second hour is dedicated to an all-position clinic where you will rotate through various stations doing drills to improve throwing, running and catching.  We focus on teaching and learning how to do things correctly and safely. Skills transferable to all sports.
