The Annual St. Leander Festival will be held on Saturday! We are counting on all of our families to help make the festival a huge success! This is an easy way to earn parent service hours, and the festival is always a great day to come together and enjoy good food and good fun! We look forward to seeing all of you on Saturday!
Please remember to check in at the Dads Club booth by the Second Grade classroom, and do not forget to sign out at the same booth at the end of your shift in order to get credit for completing your festival hours.
Please check the donation sheet for items still needed. All festival donations need to be dropped off at the Gym.
Important Payment Reminder:
We collect money for many different activities throughout the school year. When you send money into school for any reason, please be sure it is in a sealed envelope, with your name and your child's name clearly marked and that you
write the purpose for the money on the envelope.
We prefer payments be made by check or money order; however, any cash amounts over $25.00 need to be made in person to Mrs. Rosas on Monday-Wednesday 7:45 AM-1:00 PM so that you may be issued a receipt. Please do not drop off any payments at SLED. If you are here when the office is closed, you can put your payment through the mail slot near the front door of the main school building. If you need to make another arrangement, please contact Mrs. Rosas at 351-3654. Thanks for helping us keep our accounts straight!
Asbestos Notification
Each year we are required by the Environmental Protection Agency to inform the school community of the presence of asbestos containing materials in the school building. Operations and maintenance repair activities were conducted in accordance with E.P.A. guidelines throughout the year. Asbestos-containing building materials (ACBM) within the school's facilities are in good condition and pose no threat to the health and safety of our students and staff. All of the ACBM is addressed under a comprehensive Operations and Maintenance Program.
NB: Asbestos-abatement in the Women's Restroom of the gym took place in June of 2015. Removal of the asbestos was conducted under the supervision of the Diocese of Oakland and a professional company and followed CAL-OSHA guidelines. The air quality was then tested and found to be safe.
Safety Reminders
Traffic safety is very important! Please follow all traffic rules when picking up and dropping off your children at school. Please stop at all stop signs, use the crosswalks for walking to and from your car and do not double park at any time. Please do not use the stop sign as a drop off or pick up point.
Big School Parents: please pull all the way up in the yellow zone before dropping off, and please do not make u-turns in the middle of the street. Turn on to Clarke from Davis Street only. Thank you for helping us keep every child safe at St. Leander.
We see that we are all making good progress toward achieving our safety goals! Let's keep up the good work!
