Title One Income Surveys
 
Please assist us! Edinburg CISD provides us with an opportunity to receive Title One funding in the event that we have students enrolled who meet the eligibility requirements. Please complete the survey that was sent home with your child today and return it in a sealed envelope to school by Thursday, September 7. Thank you!

Hurricane Harvey Relief 
Our sister Episcopal Church in Harlingen, St. Alban's, is driving items up to Houston regularly. Please feel free to bring any of the following to school and we will ensure they get to those in need.
 
 
 
Hygiene kit
1 hand towel , 1 washcloth, 1 comb, 1 travel size soap or body wash, 1 toothbrush & travel size toothpaste, travel size shampoo & deodorant, 6 adhesive bandages
Pack in gallon zip top bag
 
Baby Kit
10 disposable diapers, travel pack of wipes, baby wash, baby wash cloth, receiving blanket
Pack in gallon zip top bag
 
Cleaning kit
Bucket, dish soap, sponges (large and small) bleach cleaner, gloves, scrub brush, shop towels
 
** In lieu of the kits, you may contribute packages of wipes and diapers. Travel sizes of soap, shampoo, and deodorant are needed too. Pet food and clumping cat litter are also being accepted.**
 
Please stick to the list of suggested items. No clothe items please. No used items.

AVO  Fiesta Planning Meeting 
  Attention St. Matthew's parents! We need your help with  Fiesta! Each Friday at 8:15 a.m. we will meet in the workroom to plan and prepare for this year's FIESTA!

Come join us! 
Bake Sale   
Kinder will be hosting the first bake sale this Friday, September 8th. Please send $3 with your child. Bake sale will take place at 2pm in the parish hall.    
Shoparoo  
It's easy. Load the Shoparoo app on your phone, post St. Matthew's Episcopal School as the beneficiary, and snap pictures of shopping receipts within 14 days of purchase.We earned $76.00 last school year.  
Amazon Smiles   
If you shop Amazon, then you can assist our school with raising funds through the Amazon Smile program. A portion of the money spent goes back to school. The monies are automatically deposited into our school's bank account. Merely select St. Matthew's Episcopal School as the recipient. 
Box Tops
 
Bring in the box tops for your child's class. The classes participate in a vigorous competition each quarter vying for the grand prize, an ice cream party. Each box top is worth 10 cents. Last year we received a check for $303!
 

   
Girl Scouts  
 
 
Girls in Kinder-Fourth grades are invited to join Girl Scout Troop 65 at St. Matthew's this Friday, September 8, 2017 from 7-8:00 in the parish hall.
    
Drop-Off in the Morning 
    
 
Mrs. Cantu will be in room 3 in the main building each morning from 7-7:30 for PK2 early morning care. PK3-4th grade students will continue to report to the parish hall for early morning care.
Halloween "Career Day" Themed Costumes 

What do you want to be when you when you grow up? We're asking the students to dress u
p in their favorite career attire for Halloween this year. Our children are already brimming with potential for the workforce of the future. Let them fulfill their aspirations on Halloween.  
   
 
    
Career Day  

If yo
u'd like to share the ins and outs of your career with our students, please sign up to  present to your child's grade level group for October 31: PK2 and PK3; PK4: Kinder and First; 2nd- 4th grades. Sign-Up sheets will be posted on the bulletin board in front of the school office. The Career Day presentations will follow the Halloween Parade.
   
FIESTA 
We cannot wait to party with our school and church community this FIESTA! Since we possess all the right "elements" at St. Matthew's, our theme is the sciences. Our fall festival will be on Saturday, October 21, from 5-9:00 p.m. 



   
FIESTA ! Raffle Tickets and Game/ Food Passes 
 
Family packets containing raffle tickets totaling $180 and game/food passes amounting to $20 will go home on Monday, September 11. The raffle prizes are phenomenal! Top prize is $1,500, with four more cash prizes following: $1,000, $700, $500, and $250.
Please help us get as many tickets out as possible! We will soon announce some incentives to ignite your Bunsen burners.
Birthday Greetings on 96.9

 
This year, we are sending Birthday Greetings to our local Christian radio station for our students. The announcement will be shared at 7:30 a.m. on the morning of your child's birthday, or on Friday for Saturday birthdays or Monday for Sunday birthdays.
 
 
 
AVO Birthday Greetings
You may sign up to have your child's birthday message posted on our electronic sign. AVO(Armadillo Volunteer Organization) is asking for a $7 donation. Funds raised directly benefit our students and staff. Click here to get the form. Turn completed form and payment to the school office. 


 
 
Preparing for the 2017-2018 Yearbook
Please submit your school event pictures just as soon as you capture them. The recipient email is: yearbook@stmattschool-rgv. We plan to have yearbooks ready by the last week of school. Send Back-to-School night and Blessing-of-the-Backpacks pictures without delay please.
