We are cruising through the first week of school
Saint Michael's Minutes
Our school year is finally in session and our students are meeting their new teachers and classmates
Principal's Notes
Dear parents and families,

This has been a wonderful first few days of school and I've enjoyed meeting all our students for the first time. Although the first days have been filled with excitement and energy, I have been extremely impressed with our students self-control and behavior in and out of the classroom. On the first day of school I went to each class and challenged the students to make this the best year ever, and to promise me three things. 1. They will be safe. 2. They will have fun. 3. The will learn. As long as these three promises are kept by our students, and as long as our teachers and me hold them to it, I know this will be a wonderful year for all.

I hope everyone has a wonderful first week of school, and happy relaxing over Labor Day Weekend.

God bless,

Daniel V. Cinalli

Back to School Night
It was a pleasure to meet many of our 1st-3rd grade parents on Tuesday at Back to School Night. I look forward to meeting all the 4th-8th grade parents this Thursday as well.

If you attended the Tuesday night session, please be aware that the first half-hour or so of the night will be the same presentation, so please feel free to attend again or arrive in time for the classroom sessions.
Arrival and Dismissal
Morning and afternoon dismissal are flowing smoothly and, most importantly, safely.

I would ask that parents in the morning ensure they pull all the way to the front when dropping students off so we can fit as many cars as possible in each round.

Also, in the afternoon,  be sure that you  follow the flow of traffic out of the parking lot as directed. Please do not try to turn around or drive separate directions since this creates a dangerous situation for our students and other drivers.

Volunteers and Substitutes
Many parents have asked about ways to help in school and volunteer. We are always looking for way to engage and partner with parents. On that note, please check below to see which Virtus training classes are being offered in the area. You can register online at Virtusonline.org.

The best way to volunteer is to email your child's teacher and ask which times some extra help are needed.

We are also looking to expand our substitute list. If you would like to be considered please send an email with resume to daniel.cinalli@stmikes22003.org.
  • Sept 12, The Church of Our Lady Queen of Peace, Arlington 6:00 PM
  • Sept 15, The Church of the Holy Spirit, Annandale, 6:30 PM
