Pastor Wendorf's Weekly Devotion
Practice
For they preach but do not practice. -Matthew 23:3

Have you ever heard of the phrase:  "Do as I say, but not as I do!"? Usually this is in regards to a bad habit that a person may have. All of us are guilty of not "practicing" what we preach. In our text, Jesus is critical of religious leaders who were not following their own teaching. Knowing what God commands us to do is  important, but doing  what God commands us to do is critical. Are you practicing what you have been taught?  Failing to "practice" the commands of God in our lives is not something that God ignores. He sees your  actions!  When you "practice," you will not be perfect in what you do, but that does not mean you do not try to do better. Never give up, as the Lord who sees what you do also knows the intentions of your heart. Father, forgives us for failing to put into practice what we know we should be doing. Help us to do better practicing in our lives. Amen.

You are welcome to contact Pastor Wendorf to share your thoughts regarding his weekly devotions. [email protected]
2017 Christian Gift Planning

As Christians, we are directed by the Lord to bear fruit for Him: "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit - fruit that will last..." -John 15:16.

Living as fruitful stewards means that we acknowledge God as the owner and we are the managers of His gifts. So in response to our Lord's instruction, to bear fruit that will last, the Stewardship Board and Endowment Committee invite you to attend one of three workshops on Christian Gift Planning. The workshops will be run by two Gift Planning professionals, Greg Fictum from Concordia University and Craig Mellendorf from SFC Estate Coaching. There is no cost to attend, as this is being paid for by a St. Paul endowment grant.

Christian Gift Planning Workshop Event
Saturday August 5 at 6:30pm
Sunday August 6 at 9:30-10:15am & 10:45-11:15am
