GRACE Gazette June 1, 2017
 CONGRATULATIONS TO THE
2017 ST. PAUL GRADUATES
God's Blessings on your future!

The 164th year of Lutheran Education at St. Paul
will come to a close on Friday, June 2:
Closing School Service: 8:25am
8th Grade Graduation:  6:30pm
Thank you for all your support this year!

This weekend we celebrate Pentecost Sunday.
On this day we remember the power and fire of "the Lord and Giver of Life," who revealed himself as the promised one. The liturgical color of this season is red to remind us of those tongues of fire that rested upon the believers that first Pentecost. It depicts the divine zeal on the Day of Pentecost, and refers to the blood of the martyrs of the Church.

Godspeed Services Next Weekend
June 10, 11 and 12 , at all the worship services, St. Paul will be thanking and honoring Pastor John Suelflow with a Godspeed and blessing for his faithful pastoral service and dedication, here, for the last 50 years. At the end of June, Pastor Suelflow will be stepping down from all 'retired' active ministry and enjoy time in full retirement. If you'd like to drop a card of thanks, there will be a box available in the Gathering Hall.
Pastor Wendorf's Weekly Devotional
"Great King"
I am a great King, says the Lord of hosts. -Malachi 1:14

When you think of great nations, which ones come to your mind? Which powerful leaders often make the news? The press wants us to listen to what these leaders are saying. In our text we are reminded that the God we worship is also a "Great King." In fact He is the King of kings, and the Lord of lords. He is the Commander of the angel armies of heaven. Do we listen to Him? The words of the song "O Worship the King" come to mind. O worship the King all-glorious above, O gratefully sing his power and his love: our shield and defender, the Ancient of Days, pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise.
Gracious King, help us never to forget who You are, as we give You thanks for Your goodness and love. Amen.

You are welcome to contact Pastor Wendorf to share your thoughts regarding his weekly devotions. [email protected]
