Pastor Wendorf's Weekly Devotional
"Time"  My times are in your hands. - Psalm 31:15

What is on my schedule for today? How often do we ask this question?  We have schedules to keep, appointments to make, and work to be done. The list of things to do can get pretty long. As we do all these things, who is really in charge of our days? Out of the clay at the first place I served in Indiana an artist made letters for me. The letters formed the words of this phrase: "Lord, what would you have me do today?"  I have kept these words displayed on a board wherever we have lived. God gives us abilities and ideas, strength and energy, and time to use each day.  We should ask Him to help us to use the time He has  given according to His plan. When we do that, we  discover an amazing thing. God is a great "time"  manager. A better question to ask each day is:   "Lord, what would You have me do this day?"

You are welcome to contact Pastor Wendorf to share your thoughts regarding his weekly devotions. pastor.wendorf@splgrafton.org
The Wendorf's are Moving!
Pastor and Jan wanted the congregation to know that they have sold their house in Grafton and are moving to Neenah. This will enable them to be closer to their daughter, Naomi, and her family. They do not plan to change their church membership at this time, so you will still see them around. In addition, Pastor has agreed to help out with some ministry responsibilities at St. Paul on a regular basis including the a continuation of his weekly devotions. They will be moving on Friday, May 26.

"Vocation & Reproductive Tech: What about the 3-Parent Embryo?"

In September 2016, an announcement was made that the first baby was born in Mexico using a technique called "spindle nuclear transfer."  This procedure allows couples who carry a rare genetic mutation to have children free of mitochondrial diseases that can include diabetes, deafness, heart disease, and liver conditions. This process uses genetics from both parents, plus an egg from a normal female donor. The child resulting from this therapy would therefore carry DNA from three parents  In this Bible Study, Rev. Dr. Kevin Voss, Director of the Concordia Center for Bioethics, will discuss the science and ethics pertaining to the "Three-Parent Baby."
