Call Update
Dear members of St. Paul Lutheran congregation:
With great joy and sincere appreciation, I am  accepting your call to serve as Associate Pastor of Care Ministries. The opportunity to continue membership at St. Paul, and also to serve the members in this specialized area of ministry, brings me a true sense of peace and happiness.
Parish ministry has always been part of my life and I look forward to being actively involved in the lives of many folks at St. Paul. As God gives me the strength and health, I will fulfill the call extended to the best of my abilities.  I know you will continue to keep me and all the pastoral teaching staff at St. Paul in your prayers as we seek opportunities to be instruments of Christ's love to you and your community.

In His service,
Timothy Maschke

Pastor Wendorf's Weekly Devotion
20/80 Rule
Let us not grow weary of doing go od . -Galatians 6:9

Did you ever hear of the Pareto Principle? This principle, also known as the 80/20 rule, states that for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes. Looking at a congregation or a local community the principle reveals that 80% of the  volunteer work is done by 20% of the people. The 20% will often lament:  "If only more people would help!" In other words, they can become weary of doing good. Volunteer  or servant fatigue is real. We all get tired. An encouragement from Scriptures is found at the end of the verse:  "For in due season we will reap, if we do not give up." Jesus came as a servant to us, so when you serve, you are following His example. He did not give  up serving us. We can be thankful when given the opportunity to serve. For those in the 20% group, do not give up! Keep up the work that you are doing in the name of the Lord.

Run PowerPoint During Worship
High schoolers, adults, and even youth as young as 6th grade (with a parent to initially assist them) can help. PowerPoint is the computer program we use to create the slides we use during worship for our readings and song lyrics. We need someone to sit at the computer in the balcony during worship to advance the slides by pressing a key on the keyboard or occasionally playing a video. You still have the opportunity to worship, while helping our church!  We will provide 10-15 minutes of training to explain the unique aspects of our setup and what to be aware of in worship. Schedule yourself online  at  St. Paul Media Ministry. Thank you!
