FACES OF THE REFORMATION
Katharina von Bora
A woman of considerable strength and courage, Katharina von Bora left her convent life when she learned from Martin Luther's writings that Christ's grace came through faith alone. The freedom she gained from this knowledge also allowed her to marry the man whose writings had taught her about God's saving grace. As manager of the Luther household, she kept everything in order so her husband could focus on theology.  (Read more here...)

WELCOME THE FEDERWITZ FAMILY THIS WEEKEND
David and Valerie Federwitz  have been serving in Ghana since 2003. Early on, David worked with Komba-speaking nationals to develop and complete a Komba language primer series. These primers teach sounds as letters and are used to educate the local people and to encourage reading and writing. He also helped identify and train literacy facilitators, supervisors, and other workers in the Komba Literacy and Bible Translation (LBT) Project. David continues to encourage and support the Komba Literacy and Bible Translation Project through frequent contact with the project coordinator and occasionally teaching workshops focused on using the New Testament (dedicated in 2014) and other Bible-related tools and resources. He is also LBT's Regional Director for Ghana, Nigeria, and Cameroon. He spends time with current and potential partner organization leaders in these countries, including Bible societies, church bodies, and groups that do language development work. He also supervises the LBT missionaries who work in these countries, encouraging and advising them as they serve in their individual paces and capacities. Valerie manages their busy household, home-schools their four children (Michaela, Josiah, Micah, and JoyAnna), and communicates with family and supporters. Learn more about the Federwitz and their mission with LBT at http://us.lbt.org/project/david-valerie-federwitz/.

PASTOR WENDORF'S WEEKLY DEVOTION
Rotten Eggs
For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. -Romans 3:23

When you cook, I am sure you check carefully so that nothing rotten is used. You know what one "rotten egg" would do to your meal. Are you as careful in checking your life? Sin is like a rotten egg in our lives. It should be avoided! We should be careful not to add sin as an ingredient to our daily living. We quickly realize that none of us have been careful enough. Left undone, our lives begin to stink like "rotten eggs." Fortunately, we have help. Jesus comes to offer us forgiveness for our sins, and then the Holy Spirit is here to help us avoid the sinful traps of life. There is no excuse for using "rotten eggs" in cooking. There is no excuse for our sin, but there is forgiveness through Jesus.
