Get Ready for Rally (Welcome Back) Sunday!
Sunday, Sept 10

Save the date for Rally Sunday, the first Sunday after Labor Day, when all of our regular programming will resume, including Christian Education, Sunday School, Adult Forums, youth choirs, Bible studies, and more! We will kick off the day with programs for all ages during the 9:15 a.m. Sunday School hour, followed by a single worship service at 10:30 a.m.

Don’t miss the delicious BBQ lunch in the Parish Hall at noon! It will be a great time of fellowship; a time to reconnect, meet new folks, and find out what St. Philip’s has to offer!

Kanuga Registration is Now Open!
Registrations Will Be Taken Through Sept 15

St. Philip’s Church will return to Kanuga this fall, on the weekend of October 20-22.

The theme of this year’s parish retreat at Kanuga is “The Spirit of Hospitality,” using Hebrews 13:2 as our focal point. The Rt. Rev. Mark J. Lawrence will be our guest speaker. We pray that God will use this retreat as a way of stirring up our hearts by showing us His great love for us, so that we, as a people, will be equipped through the Holy Spirit to demonstrate that same love to others.

We have a limited number of spaces available, so register early to guarantee your spot! Registration will close on September 15 or when all spots are filled, whichever comes first.

$160 Adults, $50 Youth (ages 10-18), $25 Children (ages 5-9), and Children under age 5 are free.

For more info or to register: submit the registration form on our website, www.stphilipschurchsc.org/kanuga-2017.

Freshman Class Citadel Cadets in Need of Sponsor Families
The Department of Cadet Activities at The Citadel is looking for families that would be willing to become a sponsor family for 4th class (freshman) cadets. A sponsor family provides a home away from home two to four times a month, during general leave (free time), for 2-3 freshmen cadets. During their free time, these young men and women ask for very little--a place to “hang out,” sleep, watch TV, sometimes even study, and have a home-cooked meal. More importantly, they often need someone to just talk to or listen to them.

If you have questions or want additional information, please e-mail me at milners@citadel.edu.

Mrs. Shelton B. Milner

Co-Director of Cadet Activities, member of St. Philips Church

Cadet sponsor program brochures are available HERE or can be picked up in the church office.

Sign Up Now for Children's Choirs

Now is the time to sign your children up for St. Philip's Children's Choirs. Although we will resume choir rehearsals after Labor Day, auditions are now being held for the Canterbury and St. David Choirs (rising fourth grade and above). Please call Jo Hethcox at the church office, 843-722-7734, to make an appointment.

Auditions are not necessary for the Cherub, St. Nicholas, or St. Cecilia Choirs, and you may register for these three choirs on St. Philip's website.

Join Us in the Adult Choir !

Weekly rehearsals resume on Wednesday, August 9 promptly at 6 p.m. for Adult Choir. Join us as we learn new music for Rally (Welcome Back) Sunday and Lessons and Carols. There is room in the choir for YOU! A simple audition will ascertain where you should be in the choir. All voice parts are most cordially welcome, but especially those who sing tenor and bass.

Help us as we build the St. Philip’s Choir and offer our talents to God’s glory! Soli Deo Gloria!

Interested? Contact our Interim Director of Music, Pat Gould, at 843-364-9552 or by email to arrange for a very simple audition.
