St. Rose School
St. Rose Report for September 10, 2017
Dear St. Rose Families,

September signals the start of Fall, the gentle reminder of change in the world around us. It is obvious that the children at St. Rose have grown and changed over the summer. They are working hard to learn the new routines, continue to develop strong relationships, and grow academically and spiritually. To better help your child this year, parents are encouraged to attend Back to School Night, this Thursday. You will find a link to our agenda for the evening as well as many other important details about our current events and activities detailed below.

Next week is our St. Rose Fall Week of Community Service. The 8th grade class will be serving our community on Wednesday as part of the United Way Day of Caring. The rest of school can get involved by sending toiletry items to benefit our communities homeless youth. Please help us support our homeless youth by brining in any of the following toiletry items to school prior to 3:00 PM on Tuesday.
  • soaps,
  • tampons
  • band-aids
  • floss
  • hand sanitizer
  • lotion
  • combs
  • deodorant
  • tooth paste
  • tooth brushes
  • other toiletry items that your teen might use at home

Our 8th grade class will make sure that these special items go with them to their service event. Don't forget to check the information below for more details about our week of service opportunities.
Yours in Christ always,

Catherine Strader

September 5:
Feast Day of
St. Teresa of Calcutta
On September 5th we celebrated the feast day of St. Teresa of Calcutta. Mother Teresa knew many significant Septembers in her lifetime. It was September when, at just 18, she left her home in Macedonia for the Loreto Convent in Ireland. It was September 10th in 1946, that she received what she described as "the call within a call" to form the Missionaries of Charity. Mother Teresa died on September 5th in 1997. She was canonized by Pope Francis on September 4th in 2016.

St. Rose students are life-long learners
who demonstrate critical thinking skills.
In Mr. Ross' class, it is rocket science! The students have the opportunity to use their critical thinking skills to try and create the best designed air rocket.
