The 22nd District Court Soundly Rejects Abita Springs' Legal Arguments

Opponents of the Helis energy project in St. Tammany have filed numerous legal actions to keep the parish from generating any of the vast amount of energy residents use daily. Last year, the town of Abita Springs filed its own suit despite the fact that the proposed project is far outside the town's boundaries.

On Wednesday, the 22nd Judicial District court ruled that the town has no jurisdiction over enforcement of the parish's code, effectively closing the doors on the town's attempt to exercise authority it does not have, and moving this important energy project one step closer to reality.

Thank you for your continued interest in this important project.
