Fidget Quilt Workshop

Saturday, February 24 th
9 am to 3 pm, Hall

Please join us for our second, super fun, creative day making the lap sized quilts for an Ottawa senior’s residence.

Fidget quilts or blankets provide sensory or tactile stimulation through the use of fabric choices, colours, colour combinations, textures, and the use of accents or simple accessories such as pockets, laces, secured beads, trims, appliques, buttons, ribbons, braids etc.

As many discovered last time, you do not have to be able to sew to enjoy this workshop. You can be the creative one in a team choosing the items to go on the quilt. If you have a sewing machine, please bring it along.

Please bring your own lunch. Coffee and tea will be available.

For more information please contact

Redeeming the Past, Unbinding the Future

Wednesdays,
Feb 28 th , March 7 th , 14 th & 21 st
6 to 8 pm, Hall

Forgiveness can heal past wounds and open a future less determined by the past. It can also heal relationships, transforming enmity into friendship.

This study will explore the Biblical and theological traditions of forgiveness in dialogue with the arts and the social sciences. In the process, we will also look at the different dimensions of forgiveness and its limits, as well as explore related topics such as repentance, restitution, confession, sin and confrontation. In addition, this study will discuss some of the essential practices necessary to make forgiveness a way of life that contributes to building God’s beloved community.

Our Honourary Associate, The Reverend Canon Dr Gary Hauch will facilitate. Sign up on the bulletin board or in the office ( office@stjohnsottawa.ca ).

Beginning on February 21 st and ending March 21 st, our Deanery will explore this book as a community – at different locations with two streams, on five Wednesdays at 1 pm or at 7 pm. Each session will be 1.5 hours long. You are invited to “pick a stream” and to commit to the five sessions.

Find the brochure with book info, dates/locations etc... here:

Please register by February 18 th ( office@stjohnsottawa.ca).
