Spirit Talks

Sunday, January 7th

Faith and Arts Ottawa launches its fifth documentary theatre workshop series, for youth (16 yrs+), young adults and adults this Sunday (6-7 pm dinner and community building; 7-9 pm. theatre workshop). Spirit Talks is led by award-winning actor, playwright and director Eleanor Crowder, and explores the relationship of spirituality, religion, youth, and young adults. Working with the real words of young adults from Tom Sherwood’s book,  Listening to The Echo , participants will reflect and work in pairs and in groups to develop monologues, dialogues, skits and choruses that wrestle with the questions and issues that interest them.

Workshop dates : January 7, 14, 21, 28, February 4, 11, 18, 25, March 4, 11, 18 and 25.

Self Care Practice
Labyrinth Walk

Tuesday, January 16th
1 to 3.30 pm,
Christ Church Cathedral

Restorative retreats for helping professionals in health care, social services, and ministry. Participate in the guided practice of walking meditation in the labyrinth. You are invited to set aside an afternoon for a labyrinth retreat for caregivers. The theme is When We Don't Know: Inner Guidance. New Year is often seen as a time for setting goals and improving habits. Instead, this retreat will honour "not knowing" as a source of wisdom and guidance. The facilitators will be Barbara Brown and Dr Elspeth McEwan.
