Race Day
The Bells of St John's
We received this lovely note from a racer:

“I was one of the runners during the Ottawa half marathon this past weekend. I'd never run a long, organized race before and I was a bag of nerves at the start line. I can't stress how much Ottawa's spectators and cheer squad made a difference along the course but especially around that first corner when St John's bells came into earshot. There are lots of churches in Centretown, but none showed the level of enthusiasm displayed by St John’s. The nerves dissolved and I was one of those dopey lunatics smiling through the entire length of the half marathon. I hope that ringing the bells for the race is a St John's tradition. Speaking as a runner, I can confirm that the bells and the crowd waving from the front steps were a HUGE encouragement! Thank you!” signed, Kate.
