ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2018

.
St. Paul's AGM was held on Sunday 15, April immediately following the Family Service.
.
    Father Soon Choi opened with a prayer and a few gracious words to express how he and
    Bishop Michael had felt spiritual movement and enthusiasm during their interregnum here.
    Thanks was also extended to them for their Pastoral and Spiritual shepherding of our flock.
    President Frank Megginson moved through The Order of the Day swiftly and pleasantly.
    Committee members due for re-election were duly re-elected. The Council had previously
    decided three Wardens would help balance the load of volunteer work and duties;
    so with  Rupert Katrisky stepping down, due to his over-booked agenda, the three Wardens
    are: Tim Humphreys, Chris Sladden, and Mary de Vachon. Following the meeting, many
    went down to the Parish Hall for refreshments.

Sunday Club is held every Sunday during the 10:30 service. Children at Saint Paul's church meet in the library where Bible stories are taught in a friendly atmosphere and where, each week, a different theme is discussed. The youngest children are encouraged to draw and colour on our theme with praise songs played as background. We invite more children to join us to be strengthened with God's word. In few weeks we are starting a short play.

Lemuel Haiti thanks St. Paul's for the CDC donations
.

St. Paul's support for Lemuel's work in Haiti has contributed to helping this  vibrant Christian community  in the remote  rural  NW of Haiti to have the funds to complete the construction of the primary school and kindergarten. In addition these monies have supported the continuing education of the community's children, which includes training and paying  teachers and support staff.  Pupils have one hot meal a day, which is often their only hot meal and this, for 1€ per day per pupil. Such support  is essential for the community: education is necessary if this generation of students is to move past subsistence farming. Work on a well promises to bring water to the village and to put an end to walking endless miles each day to collect water. Water in the village will free time for more important work and will allow irrigation for the community's small gardens.
