  EARLY CHILDHOOD FUN!
Students in our Star Center Early Childhood program have been learning about community helpers and transportation. We pretended to be mechanics and decorated cars made out of cardboard. We practiced cutting out the tires and lights, and then practiced gluing them on. When we were finished we drove our cars around the school for a car parade. The car parade started off our transportation unit. We drove our cars to the "drive in movie theater" aka the cafeteria where we handed over our tickets to watch the movie Cars and get popcorn. The EC students and teachers had so much fun!

WE'RE OFF TO A RUNNING START
AT STAR CENTER!
Our Running Start reading program for Star Center 1st graders is off to a great start! As part of this program, our 1st graders are challenged to read at least
35 books to strengthen their reading and comprehension skills. Each Friday afternoon in March and April, adult volunteers,  #BadgerHigh  students & our 4th grade students join our 1st graders in their classrooms for reading time.

On April 28, we'll celebrate our reading success and every child will receive a certificate and free book. Our top two readers who read the most books will receive an award from our school board! Thank you to our Star Center PTO for supporting this program & providing our students with books and
their Running Start T-shirts.
