LEGO LUNCH CREW
Introducing the Lego Lunch Crew!
This is a group of students ranging from 2nd grade to 5th grade, who worked hard on their Lego creations!
This project combines
S:science, T:technology, E:engineering, and M:mathematics
to enhance creativity and academics while working within a team setting. Students worked together to build motorized Lego projects and used their programming skills to bring their robots to life!
BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
Eight Star Center students participated in this year’s Battle of the Books, a voluntary reading competition for 4th and 5th graders. Working in teams, students read a variety of books and kept track of details through graphic organizers, team meetings, and even Google docs! All participants took this challenge quite seriously, which showed at the final round of competition on May 18th. In the end the fifth grade team came out on top by a narrow margin. These students read some great books, developed deeper friendships, learned the importance of teamwork, and showed great sportsmanship! Congratulations to all the Battle of the Books students!
