What's Happening in
2nd Grade?
2nd graders at Star Center learned about soil last week. We created a snack to represent the layers.

Marshmallows- bedrock
Cheerios - subsoil
Cocoa Krispies - topsoil and humus
Gummy worm - living animals in the soil

AWESOME!
Positive Character
at Star Center!
Star Center students are continually working to develop positive character traits. The fourth and fifth graders created art to send to those affected by the hurricanes. After reading a story during library class about a family that lived through a hurricane, students planned and drew pictures that would lift spirits of people displaced by the storms. In art class, the students added color to the drawings to brighten the artwork and make it really stand out. The finished drawings were sent to hurricane shelters to spread happiness!
