Music to Your Ears
Tuscon Jazz Festival
Ready to jazz up your new year? This month, Tucson will again turn the spotlight on its jazz scene with the return of the Tucson Jazz Festival , January 11-21. Live jazz hits Downtown Tucson for nearly two weeks, bringing an impressive lineup of performers, spanning genres ranging from traditional and fusion rhythm to smooth jazz. Notable performers include:  Sheila E., Spyro Gyra, Arturo Sandoval and The Hot Sardines. Pair the performances with eats and drinks and you're set for new year fun. Now is the time to commit to be fit. From January 8 thru January 21 sign-up for a monthly membership or punch pass at Tumbleweed Recreation Center and save 20 percent. New members or punch pass holders will also receive a complimentary Fit Start Orientation. Guided by knowledgeable and caring fitness staff, you'll learn the ins and out of the TRC, learn how to operate our state-of-the-art Life Fitness cardio, strength and circuit equipment as well as the importance of proper core and flexibility training. Animal Exploration!

Some animals hibernate during the winter, but you don't have to. This month, take a wildlife trek to Environmental Education Center for Animal Exploration! How Do Animals Adapt To Winter?. Bring the brood to enjoy hands-on activities including read-alongs and crafts as you discover the sounds and behaviors of animals as they prepare for winter.
Teen Madden Tournament

Arrive a contender, leave a champion at the Madden NFL 18 Tournament & Tailgate. Gamers face-off against opponents to win smart Bluetooth prizes, bragging rights and a grand prize - Arizona Rattler's Gift Bag. Game night includes tailgate, paper football match and more. Tournament will be played on PlayStation 4, with semi-finals and finals broadcasted on a giant projection screen. This is a single elimination tournament.
Adult
It's time to make some racquet. Drop-in and enjoy open play Table Tennis at the Community Center. This month, open play is available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the evening from 5 to 9 p.m. Paddles and balls are provided with a valid ID. No pre-registration required and entry is free. 

Looking for some friendly competition on the tennis court, but don't have a partner? No problem. Chandler Tennis Center's Doubles Drop-in program matches players up with random partners each week. Play as little or as much as you like during Doubles Drop-in Monday through Thursday 1 to 3 p.m.; no registration required. Seniors can shine bright at Chandler's Spice of Life Senior Variety Show. Active adults who can sing, dance or perform a talent to entertain a crowd are invited to audition January 8, 16 or 24. To schedule your audition or for more information, please call 480-782-2720.

Whether you're ready for some Football , looking to Cheer from the sidelines or hoop it up on the Basketball court, now is your chance to play, work out and make new friends. Winter sports begin this month and are designed for individuals with disabilities.
