Thank you for subscribing to my e-newsletter.

This week, I was in Austin for a meeting of the Commission on Public School Finance. During this meeting, we heard the recommendations from the Outcomes Work Group. The commission meeting originally scheduled for August 8 has now turned into a meeting for the Expenditures Work Group only. This was announced at the end of the meeting, but I wanted to make sure you could mark your calendar accordingly. As always, you can find more information on the School Finance Commission website.

It was so great to see so many of you at the Community Input meeting for the San Jacinto Watershed. As the Harris County Flood Control District moves forward with its plans, I will be sure to keep you informed of any developments. In this edition of the newsletter, you'll find several pieces of information that can help you make your decision when the bond election comes around. If you were not able to make the meeting on Tuesday, there is a video of the meeting below.

If you have any questions comments or concerns about anything at all, please feel free to contact my office. My email (and my staff's emails) are linked at the bottom of the newsletter. You can also feel free to call my Capitol office at 512-463-0520 or my District office at 281-360-9410.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Harris County Flood Control District Community Meetings
Bond Election Information
It was great to see so many folks at the San Jacinto Watershed meeting on Tuesday evening. A video of the meeting can be found in the next section. There are upcoming watershed meetings for the Cedar Bayou and Luce Bayou. Due to the size of the San Jacinto River watershed, Harris County officials will be presenting the San Jacinto programs again at both of those meetings, along with the other projects. You can find the times, locations, and information about other community meetings here.

Please be sure you make your voice heard and comment on any and all of the projects. Full details on how to submit comments via the web, mail and phone may be found here. Each of the specific programs has a comment procedure, but HCFCD is also accepting comments on county wide projects. To learn more about the county-wide programs, follow this link.

An interactive map of projects under discussion is available and will be updated as projects finalize. (The interactive map allows you to click on the button to the left side to turn on legislative district boundaries.) By clicking on icons for the project locations, you can read more about expected projects, their costs and participants/funding.
