Currently, the Planning & Development Team has 13 active projects. Once completed, approximately 296 jobs will be created or retained and will yield $45 million in capital investments.

 
For the month of February, the Planning & Development Team completed four projects, creating 269 jobs, totaling $2.1 million in capital investment the city.

2017 State of the City 

Join us on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 7 p.m. for Mayor Tom Kneeland's Annual State of the City Address at Gahanna City Hall.  Mayor Kneeland will provide an update on his Ten-Point Plan and share what's ahead for 2017.  The presentation will also share results from the GoForward Gahanna strategic plan, financial highlights from 2016 and updates on the Economic Development Strategy.

Contractors and Residents Can Now Apply for Permits Online

In December 2016, the City of Gahanna implemented the first phase of its new software platform that allows contractors to complete their registrations online. As of March 13, 2017, contractors and residents can now apply, pay for and obtain their residential and commercial permits online.

Meet Us Creekside for National Walking Day!

April 5th is National Walking Day. The American Heart Association sponsors this day to remind people about the health benefits of taking a walk. Join Mayor Kneeland and City staff  for a walk on Wednesday, April 5 at 11:30 a.m. at Creekside Plaza to help us kick off this day.  Senior Golf League Organizational Meeting

Dust off the clubs and join the Senior Golf League for its organizational meeting Thursday, April 20 at 10:00 a.m. at the Gahanna Senior Center, 480 Rocky Fork Blvd.

The league plays Thursday mornings at the Gahanna Municipal Golf Course and other area courses. A Gahanna Senior Center membership is required to participate.

Severe Weather Awareness Week 

Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security (FCEM&HS) will recognize Ohio's Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week and Flood Safety Awareness Week, March 19-25, 2017 to increase awareness about of the hazardous side of spring weather. 

The City of Gahanna will participate in a statewide tornado drill on Monday, March 22 at 9:50 a.m.
During this time Franklin County Outdoor Warning  Siren System will be activated. The City is encouraging the community to get involved by testing out their plans for severe weather during this time. Individuals can also prepare for severe weather before it happens by signing up with the City's emergency notification system, ALERT.

ALERT Franklin County is a state-of-art mass notification and warning system designed to provide notifications and alerts about emergencies  and other important community news  in jurisdictions throughout Franklin County.

Gahanna Art Spotlight - Gahanna Area Art League
Display and Art Sale


Throughout the month of March, artwork from the Gahanna Area Art League will be featured in the lobby and on the second floor of Gahanna City Hall (200 S. Hamilton Rd.) during normal business hours and is available for purchase.

Founded in 1967, the Gahanna Area Art League promotes interest in and understanding of the Arts for members and community by a program of talks, demonstrations, tours, exhibits and awards.

Gahanna Residential Paper Shredding & 
Electronic Recycling Event

Please join us for the Gahanna Residential Paper Shredding and Electronic Recycling Event on
Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. - noon. at the City Hall parking lot, located at 200 S. Hamilton Rd.  

Residents can drop off their family and household records for shredding as well as computers and other electronics devices for recycling.

Columbia Gas Survey Program

Over the next few months, Columbia Gas Crews will be surveying underground natural gas lines throughout Gahanna to help improve safety. Measurements will be performed by specially trained employees of Columbia Gas and their contractors.

Workers will move through the city surveying the location of gas mains, service lines and meters to update their mapping system for utility marking purposes and emergency response preparedness.

The Gahanna Convention & Visitors Bureau, recently named "CTA Employer of the Year," by Experience Columbus invites you to attend its upcoming Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA)  class in Gahanna on

Volunteer Spotlight: GRIN
 
Gahanna Residents in Need (GRIN) began as a food pantry in 1972 in the home of Sally and General James Williams. Today, the organization and  has grown into a community-wide, faith- based organization that provides food, clothing, utility/rent assistance, holiday assistance and other resources to Gahanna residents.
 
Last year, GRIN helped nearly 4500 families, provided nearly 260 book bags with supplies and over 4,100 summer lunches to Gahanna youth.
