Cornbread and Beans Chief Keith Humphrey will be the featured speaker at the Tyner Cornbread and Beans luncheon on Friday, March 16, 2012. Chief Humphrey will present his view of public safety in Norman.
The event will be held at Norman's new events center, Catering Creations, 3750 W. Main.
Chief Humphrey became the Police Chief of Norman on June 4, 2011 and he strongly believes that Norman is a vibrant and premier city that is openly embracing community oriented policing.
He was born in Dallas, Texas and earned his Bachelors of Business Administration from East Texas State University and his Masters from Amberton University. In addition he is a graduate of the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute Command College.
He began his police work with the Fort Worth Police Department and later with the Arlington Police Department. His first assignment as a Chief was with the Lancaster, Texas and under his leadership the City experienced a double digit drop in over all crime.
The luncheon is sponsored by the Cleveland County Democratic Party and begins at 11:15 AM with the speaker beginning about noon. Guest will enjoy lunch from Catering Creations' mini buffet. The meeting is open to the public.
