     FROM OUR PTSA         PRESIDENT

Dear Steinbrenner Students, Families, and Teachers,

On the heels of Thanksgiving, we now look forward to celebrating Christmas with family and family friends and I get another opportunity to say thanks to all the parents, students, and teachers who spend their time supporting the PTSA.

As you reflect over the holidays, don't forget the less fortunate, the family who doesn't know where their next meal is coming from, the family without a roof over their head and those with no shoes for their feet.  Give of yourselves where you can.  Spread holiday cheer wherever you go - a kind and encouraging word goes a long way.

We have a General Membership Meeting on Thursday, January 5, 2017 and I look forward to seeing many of you at that meeting.

I wish all of you a wonderful holiday season, a Happy New Year and a safe winter break.

"A strong PTSA embodies parent involvement and parent involvement represents student success."

1st Teacher Appreciation Week (TAW) Meeting is 1/11/17!

Dear Steinbrenner Families,

Teacher Appreciation Week (TAW) is a week-long celebration of our teachers.  PTSA is hosting this event the week of May 1-5, 2017.  There will be events and/or giveaways each day (massages, manicures, coffee day, smoothies...) culminating with a nice luncheon for the teachers on Friday, May 5th.

The PTSA Teacher Appreciation Committee will be holding its first planning meeting on Wednesday, January 11 at 7:45am in the Steinbrenner High School Teachers' Lounge.  Please join us in organizing this amazing week for our teachers.  We will be needing a team of volunteers to request donations from businesses, as well as help organize food for the luncheon, organize events for the week, etc.  If you are unable to attend the planning meetings, but still want to be involved, w e have many things that you can help us with from home.

Please let me know if you would like to donate towards this special week - cash, gift cards, unopened gifts you may have lying around the house, wine, anything you think the teachers may enjoy receiving. We love to spoil our teachers, and in past years have been fortunate enough to be able to give everyone a unique gift!

Feel free to contact Lori Smart with any questions, donations or offers to help:

Thank you in advance for all you do to make Steinbrenner a great school!

PTSA distributed incentives to 923 students for the first grading period.  These students earned Principal's Honor Roll, High Honor Roll, or Honor Roll.  Way to go Warriors!!

PSAT & ACT (Practice Test) Scores are Available
PSAT scores are available online through your child's College Board account.  An email was sent to parents with an assigned access code to retrieve the scores.

If your child took the practice ACT, the test scores were sent home w/the students on 11/29/16. Apparently, Princeton no longer mails the results directly to the students.  A huge thank you to Ms. Pressley and  Guidance for getting them sorted and distributed.
