Dear Steinbrenner Students, Families, and Teachers,

Happy New Year and Welcome Back!

I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and great spirits.  It is hard to believe that we are pretty much at the half way mark through the school year.

Spring is a busy time with seniors deciding on their plans for after graduation. I want to encourage all seniors to apply for the PTSA scholarship.  The scholarship deadline is February 1, 2017.  You can find details and the application form on our website (http://www.steinbrennerptsa.org).

Please mark your calendars and come out and support the PTSA's "World of a Teen" event in the school auditorium on Tuesday, February 7, at 6pm.  This is an award-winning event which is always very informative.

Check out the newsletter article on the Reflections contest and help us congratulate the students that participated and won awards this year.

Wishing you health and happiness in 2017!

"A strong PTSA embodies parent involvement and parent involvement represents student success."

Teacher Appreciation Week (TAW)
Dear Steinbrenner Families,

Teacher Appreciation Week (TAW) is a week-long celebration of our teachers.  PTSA is hosting this event the week of May 1-5, 2017.  There will be events and/or giveaways each day (massages, manicures, coffee day, smoothies...) culminating with a nice luncheon for the teachers on Friday, May 5th.

We will be needing a team of volunteers to request donations from businesses, as well as help organize food for the luncheon, organize events for the week, etc.  If you are unable to attend the planning meetings, but still want to be involved, w e have many things that you can help us with from home.

Please let me know if you would like to donate towards this special week - cash, gift cards, unopened gifts you may have lying around the house, wine, anything you think the teachers may enjoy receiving. We love to spoil our teachers, and in past years have been fortunate enough to be able to give everyone a unique gift!

Please join us for our next TAW committee meeting Tuesday, February 7th at 7:45am in the teachers' lounge.

Feel free to contact Lori Smart with any questions, donations or offers to help:

lsmart7@verizon.net or 813-310-9780.

Thank you in advance for all you do to make Steinbrenner a great school!
