Dear Steinbrenner Students, Families, and Teachers,

We have been busy so far this year and it's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  My daughter has been very busy completing college and scholarship applications.  It's hard to believe that she'll be going off to college in less than a year.  The years have truly flown by.

Thanks to our volunteers and dedicated PTSA board members, we had a very successful Senior breakfast on the heels of an extremely successful and well-attended ACT Prep session.

Don't forget to order a banner for your senior if you haven't already done so.  Also, check our website for the scholarship application form.  Keep in mind that volunteer hours and attendance at a PTSA general body meeting are now requirements for scholarship consideration.  The scholarship deadline is February 1, 2017.

Remember that you are the reason for the advancement of our PTSA and your contributions are important to the success of our students.  The key to our continued growth is keeping everyone informed so continue to check our website for important dates and upcoming events that you can get involved with.
I wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving!
"A strong PTSA embodies parent involvement and parent involvement represents student success."
~E rica Dees
Steinbrenner PTSA President, 2016-17

Steinbrenner Volunteers -

Our second Teacher Conference Night will be held this Thursday, November 17th.  We could use a handful of volunteers that day from 2pm until approximately 4:30pm to help with set up, serving and clean up.  We are in need of desserts (chocolate is especially popular), whole fruit and soda donations.  please let me know if you are able to help out, and you are welcome to drop off the items in the front office up until the morning of conference night.

We are still in need of volunteers for Kick It for Leist, student/faculty kickball game to benefit the Leist Family, happening Friday afternoon, November 18th.  We need as many volunteers as we can to help out with crowd control type activities.  Please let me know if you will be able to help on the afternoon of the 18th, 1pm until around 3:15pm.   Lets show Mr. Leist that the families are here to support him, as well!  If you cannot volunteer, but would still like to help out the family, donations are being accepted all week in the office, or at the event on Friday.

As always, THANK YOU!  We honestly have the most amazing parents!

Steinbrenner PTSA Sponsored a Money Management Workshop for Seniors

How many of us have said, "I sure wish someone had taught me about managing my money when I was in school"?

Many young people today are finding themselves with serious financial problems and in a debt cycle that is hard to reverse. In the meantime, they are unable to save for important life goals. The saddest part, is that it could have been avoided with some simple and sound money management skills.

Well, during the first week of November, 258 Steinbrenner seniors participated in "Money Management" workshops provided by Adam Parks, a financial advisor and owner of Trinity Wealth Management.  Topics such as good debt vs. bad debt, budgeting, improving credit, reducing debt, saving money and the impact of compound interest were discussed. This program was sponsored by the PTSA.
