  Meet Jade Godwin
Sterling Petite Miss USA
Five-year-old Jade is truly sterling in every way. She is a beloved  little sister to her sister queens, a little ambassador for her Sterling Miss title and active with her community service. Plus...we just love her a ton! Jade wanted to share a few thoughts from her experience with Sterling Miss USA :
Jade, what was your favorite part of Pageant Weekend?  Making new friends and hanging out with the big girls!

What advice would you give the contestants who are competing this year?  To smile and have fun!

What is one thing you would remind contestants to bring on pageant weekend?  Don't forget your crown and sash! Jade is absolutely right - don't forget your prelim crown and sash. Wear it wherever you go in the hotel and out and about on pageant weekend. We will also wear your sash and hold your crown before finals start on Sunday for a group onstage photo.

What do you love about Sterling Miss?  Having fun and making memories with my sister queens.

Finding that Perfect Little
White Dress!
All contestants will wear a short white cocktail/ crowning dress for opening number and for their onstage introduction which takes place after opening number. While we do need it to be majority white, it can have a little (just a dab) of color on it if you can't find solid white.  With Easter just around the corner, they should be pretty easy to find though. The dress doesn't have to be super ornate. Stoned or without...it is fine! The photos shown are just ideas....if you  have something and want to see if it is ok, just send me a photo.  Also...I am not sure just yet on what moves the opening number will have in it, so if your dress flairs when you spin around, you might want to put a pair of white bootie shorts under it. We sure don't want any wardrobe malfunctions!

Shoes: all contestants should wear a nude shoe of your choice with your white gown. Make sure you can walk and move around in them comfortably!  Why nude and not white?  The basic nude shoe (heel) is a pageant staple. White draws attention down to your feet and away from your face where we want the judges to be looking!  Also, white shoes will make your foot look bigger!  Girls, if you are wearing open toed shoes, make sure your toes don't hang over the front of the shoe.

NOTE: After the pageant, the 2017 Sterling Miss Queens will have photos made in their formal wear and in their white cocktail dresses for publicity purposes.

For helpful resume tips, check out this great Pageant Planet    article!
Your Pageant RESUME: Tips for Success!
Your resume is your first opportunity to make an impression on the judges...and you want to make a good one. So take your time and really think about what you want to share with them. Don't state the obvious. If the resume asks to you list three things about  yourself, don't list your hair and eye color. Give the judges something interesting with which to work.
Your resume form is found in Sterling Miss Email Packet # 4/5.
Remember, you will need to bring 6 copies of your resume to check in at the pageant. Do not send them by mail ahead of time.
