Congratulations to Olivia Corpuz for being our May Athlete of the Month. Olivia is an 8th grader at St. Thomas More in Centennial and her favorite subject is history.

Outside of school, Olivia plays basketball, she played for St. Thomas More and played in competitive basketball leagues in Chicago before moving to Colorado. Olivia played basketball for the 8th grade Arapahoe High School feeder team.  Her team won the Gold Crown tournament this past year, so they are Gold Crown champions.  She intends to play for the AHS Warriors in the Fall and will be trying out for Arapahoe High School's Summer Basketball League soon.  In addition to basketball, Olivia also enjoys biking and spending time with her friends.

We asked Olivia how the Youth Sports Performance classes at Sterling’s Team Speed have made a difference in her training and here’s what she said. “I’ve gotten faster and stronger.  Because of the training, it also takes me longer to now get winded.  Oh, and I really like the tennis ball game.”

Just for fun, we also asked Olivia if she knows where she’d like to go to college yet and if she knows what she wants to be when she grows up.  Olivia isn’t sure yet where she wants to go to college, which is fine Olivia, you have plenty of time to figure it out.  However, she thinks she’d like to either be a Cosmetologist or a business owner of some sort.

Way to go, Olivia!  Congratulations again from your friends at Sterling’s Team Speed!
