April News
,

It's April! The weather has finally started to warm here in Florida, and and flowers are blooming. I'm looking forward to teaching Tea & Stitches next week, and to new and continuing classes at Cinnamon's. Hopefully, there's a visit to Pennsylvania to visit family in my not-too-distant future, too! Here's what's happening ...

Adventures in Amelia Island

I always love preparing for Tea & Stitches, and next week's retreat, April 12-15 in Amelia Island, is no exception. Here's a sneak peek at the class project, a tea cozy to complement my newest quilt. We'll be learning stitches and techniques, sharing tips, enjoying gifts, activities, more. We have a great time planned!

This 18" x 18" quilter's block case is perfect for storing your blocks or traveling to class. The case opens to a design board. Finish the case in a one-day class.

For Your Quilting Library

As I've been designing the project for our Tea & Stitches retreat, needle lacing has been a focal point of my interest. One of my favorite authors, designers and sources of inspiration when it comes to needle lacing and Brazilian embroidery is Maria A. Freitas. Her book, The Art of Dimension Embroidery, is filled with exquisite designs, 30 essential stitches, and more than 40 flowers, leaves and objects for your creative designing pleasure. It is a wonderful book for learning and creating dimensional embroidery and will be a much loved book in your library!
Stitching Companions

Doogan is always on the prowl for a comfy place to rest his head! Here, he has discovered a bag of bright red remnants from a gift for Tea & Stitches attendees next week, and claimed it for his own. I'm sure he'd love to attend the event, too!

In Closing

I hope you find inspiration in the our beautiful spring weather, and lots of time for your creative projects. Til next month, stay stitching!
