Domestic Violence Articles

By WREG on 05/27/2017

"I told him that woman is going to be your death and I didn't tell him just once I told him several times," said Sarah Suggs's the victim's mother.

By NOLA on 05/23/2017

"...House Bill 27 would have struck language out of Louisiana's current domestic violence laws that limit those protections only to partners "of the opposite sex." The law, as currently written, prevents prosecutors from bringing domestic violence charges -- which carry longer sentences and more serious penalties -- when the suspected abuser is in a same-sex relationship with his or her victim. ..."

By The Norwhich Radical on 05/22/2017

"... Despite it being a fact that men also suffer domestic violence at the hands of women, it seems that this is a taboo subject. Even a search of the internet will reveal little, in comparison to a similar search regarding woman as the victims of domestic violence. When stories of the abuse of men by women are found the numbers of men that are subject to domestic violence vary wildly from site to site and report to report. ..."
Elder Abuse Articles

By Queensland Times on 05/25/2017

"...Ipswich district Crime Prevention officer in charge Sergeant Nadine Webster said it was important to highlight the fact that the elderly sometimes found themselves targeted by people who sought to take advantage of them or abuse them. ..."

By Sandusky Register on 05/24/2017

"...Just like it is for wife-beating/domestic violence, financial elder abuse is a crime that is under-reported. This crime uses a tactic known as “undue influence.” In simple terms undue influence is manipulating/persuading a person to do something they would not normally do. ..."
Bullying

By Napa Valley Register on 05/22/2017

"...The first and best way to prevent bullying is to model and reinforce positive, respectful behavior and to intervene in an appropriate way when disrespectful behavior happens. All 31 of our schools use a system of positive behavior and intervention supports (PBIS) called BEST to instill the values of safety, respect and responsibility. ..."
  How You can Help
SAFE has started a Go Fund Me campaign. This campaign has been created in order to help provide SAFE with computers for our intern program. Many students are unable to afford computers, and we are simply unable to provide them with a computer, which is needed to complete their projects and successfully complete the program. By your contribution we will be able to purchase computers for our organization and have them accessable to interns needing a computer during our internship program.
