Public Relations Intern, Lindsey Bega, was just filmed for the first of many new education videos for SAFE. This video is predicted to be released to the public by the end of the month and will be accessible on YouTube as well as on our website. Being bullied can feel awful whether you are a child or adult. This video discusses the signs of bullying and how to cope if you, or someone you know, are a victim.
Domestic Violence Articles

"...Once Gov. John Bel Edwards signs the law, police, prosecutors and judges will be able to extend the same protections and penalties to victims and perpetrators of domestic violence regardless of the sex of the victim, the RPEC said in a news release. ..."

By Advocate on 06/01/2017

"...As we begin the Pride season I feel a sense of peace and serenity, reflecting on my journey. I am grateful to be a thriving out gay man living in the city of Chicago, my home since birth. I haven't always felt this way. In fact, I never thought I'd live to see my 30s, let alone live into my 50s. I'm a survivor of child sexual assault. I am also a survivor of domestic abuse. I experienced mental abuse in my relationship with my second wife. After I came out as gay, I endured relentless mental and physical abuse at the hands of a male partner. ..."
Elder Abuse Articles

Bullying

By Times Record News on 06/06/2017

"...The dictionary defines a Bully as “a person who uses strength or power to harm or intimidate those who are weaker”.  When I was in school the Bully was the person who you did not mouth-off to or taunt in any way because you knew you would get a knot on your head.  They were just the tough guys and an occasional girl.  Was I afraid of them – No – I just avoided the situation.  Just as long as I did not poke the cage, I was safe. ..."
Campus Sexual  Assault

By The Daily Caller on 06/02/2017

"...Anyone who has followed the campus sexual assault debate over the last decade has heard advocates, politicians, and reporters throwing around the disconcerting statistic that 1-in-5 women will be the victim of sexual assault while in college.  The number is jarring…but is it truthful? ..."
  How You can Help
SAFE has started a Go Fund Me campaign. This campaign has been created in order to help provide SAFE with computers for our intern program. Many students are unable to afford computers, and we are simply unable to provide them with a computer, which is needed to complete their projects and successfully complete the program. By your contribution we will be able to purchase computers for our organization and have them accessable to interns needing a computer during our internship program.
